A number of weeks ago, the public were made aware of the departure of nine senior employees (or employers, depending on whom you ask) from Blizzard Entertainment. In an execution of logic fitting for even the finest French Aristocracy of Pre-Revolution days, Vivendi Universal decided that the resignations of these nine people were worth more than negotiation. Obviously, we'd all like to know why. Perhaps something was lost in the translation? We don't know. What we certainly do know is this:
The latest nine important people to leave Blizzard have founded a new games company, and given their newly minted company the name of Flagship Studios. As soon as we could contact Flagship, you bet we were on our e-mail accounts firing off communiques. And so, our mutual hard efforts have paid off. With repsects to our friends at Blizzard, we offer this interview from their newest competition: Flagship Studios. In the conversation, Bill Roper provides personal information, and some candid answers about FlagShip's direction, and goals.
