Need new monitor
Alright, these questions may be very stupid but I honesty have no clue.
My graphics card is a LE 7300. It has a S-video thing that is a black round plug, and a yellow one that is labeled I believe comp.
My current monitor is a HP VS19d and it is not turning on properly. I have seen a "how to" online how to fix it but I'm not the type of person to crack it open and go fix it. The monitor is like maybe 3yrs old. It has Total HRS 24,161 and 7,062 Black HRS. (Just trying to give as much Info as possiable)
My main question is does the type of monitor have to be compatible with the PC. Is there a way of telling? with the graphics card I have? I rather not get screwed over with something thats not going to be compatible.
Do you guys have any recommendations? I'm looking for something thats kinda cheap and is like a 22-19in in size.
 I apologize if this was tedious and long. (Just tried to provide as much info as I could. If you have any questions ASK!!!)

google "dvi" and "vga" and see if you can figure out which one you have, the round one is for a regular (non-hd) tv
after that, just get a monitor that has the appropriate input.
chances are it's vga because it's older, but most monitors still accept a vga signal

I see that this monitor has the plug that you mentioned above that I need.
Is there anything that seems concerning in it's specs?

As long as your video card supports the monitors minimum resolution you should be good to go.

How do you tell that from the graphics card. Mines a 7300LE Nvidia, and I'm not that tech savvy and have no clue on how to find the max resolution output.

And another question would be, can I just plug the new monitor in? nothing really needs to be done other than that once I get new one(besides setting resolution probably.)

i doubt resolution will be a problem, like you said, you just plug it in and it should work (assuming both were turned off when you connected them and used the same port on the graphics card that your old monitor used)

I'd recommend that. It will work with your card as both use DVI.
It's an awesome monitor and I use it myself. And 827 reviews 90% being 5 or 4 stars.
The price on newegg fluctuates a lot though, I believe I got it for 170. or 180.

True, you can turn down in-game resolution though. But then the picture wont be so clear. 
You can hook up an xbox / ps3 on it though with the HDMI port.

edit: nvm, i was thinking about the graphics card accepting HDMI and then outputting DVI to monitor and sound to speakers
