Hi.
My operativesystem (Windows 7) detects A: for some reason. (Floppy drive.)
-I have no floppy drive installed in my computer.
How can I disable/remove A: from my computer?

I checked my Bios, but couldn't find it anywhere.
The closest I got to it was the floppy drive in the Boot order list.

In the "Start menu" button thing, type Disk Management and launch the tool called Create and format disk partitions

You might be able to right-click the A: drive and "assign drive letter" - then just say remove, so that there is no letter assigned.

You can also go into Device Manager (yes just type it in the search thing... it's cool!) and see if there is a floppy controller you can disable.

This might be because your motherboard has a floppy controller even though there is nothing plugged into it.

I don't see an A: on mine for what it's worth.

Deactivating it in the Device Manager worked.
Thanks a lot. =)

OffTopic: typing devmgmt.msc in Run.. launches device manager. I love Run..

That's the old way! 'Run' is built in to the search thing, since Vista. That's why Run isn't in the 'start' menu anymore by default, buit you can get to it other ways/keystrokes.
