I only played the original witcher, but I didn't like it much, so I would go with skyrim

I am currently playing them both.
My thoughts so far are that:
They are both very role playing,
both feel semi realistic

Advantages of Witcher 2:
Faster Gameplay,
Feel more focused apon the player,
Decisions affect storyline more,
The characters are more recognisable

Advantages of Skyrim:
Betters graphics, looks more realistic
Bigger maps, more discovery
Long game (feels kinda endless - with the feeling of minimal progress)
Alot of skills and customizability,

Disadvantages of Witcher 2:
Graphics arent quite as good, and kinda puts off the believability at times due to arms being incorrectly placed and going through walls etc

Disadvantages of Skyrim:
Feels way too long, going to find quests often takes approx 5-10 minutes just to travel there

Overall they are both very fun games imo.
I personally prefer Witcher 2 due to the faster pace of the game, and the more severe feeling of progress.
When I play skyrim the graphics are kinda mindblowing and the physics and choices are amazing, but the game feels more like its for those Oblivion players and people can get bored fairly quickly.

Storyline:
Both are fairly decent.
Witcher 2 has a more dynamic storyline than Skyrim, due to the speed of the story and gameplay.

while this is true, I enjoy "exploring" the world, it's not like you are just running in a straight line for that amount of time

Correct. You are trying to clime a mountain which (has amazing grahics) is irregular and can take many moments to find a way onto or above.
Can be rather irritating after awhile.
But don't get me wrong, I think it is well done. Just partially frustrating.

Skyrim Mountains > Oblivion mountaints
they drastically increased the angle at which you can walk (like 80*) ok thats an exageration, but its not that bad and there is always a route to get to the destination, also Skyrim is VERY moddable and i believe the CK came out (Creation Kit, World editor for skyrim)
I cant specculate on Witcher 2 as i have never played it, but i know for sure skyrim is worth the 60$, last month when i went MIA for like 3 weeks straight its because i was in White Run 24/7, if you get the game, you will understand that reference quickly :p

Well, to be honest I enjoyed playing Witcher 2 more than Skyrim, but that's probably because I had already played Oblivion. If I had not played Oblivion before, I would probably have enjoyed Skyrim more. I got the feeling that whatever I did in Skyrim I had done in Oblivion, it didn't feel like I was playing a new game for the first time. But Witcher 2 felt new and fresh, which is why I must say I did enjoy it more.

I tried to play Witcher 2, but I could never play it due to technical issues so... can't say right there. :p It's also the only game I had issues with so yeah, I'm kind of wondering why.

Skyrim is definitely awesome though.

I'm pretty sure witcher requires a lot more from your computer than skyrim. then again, witcher looks prettier too.

Overall the votes are 1/4/1 - with Skyrim being the clear winner.
Good to know.
Now if only I could cure Vampirism... :/

have you tried using that one spell that shows you the path to your current quest? that can help a lot if you need to approach it from a different direction or are way off

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
