Shirt Designing Competition!
For the one and only: TheHelper.net

Foreward:
There was some discussion recently about Thehelper.net T-Shirts in the Chat. Kc102 made a design, but we wanted more designs, so I came up with the idea of having a competition. :)

Simply put, the winner will get their design used for official Thehelper.net shirts. Winners will be decided by public poll.

The Rules:
  • The shirt must be designed by you
  • There can only be one winner. Though working together is fine, bear this in mind.
  • Each member can have up to 3 submissions.
  • Every submission is to be PMed to me.
  • WIPs are welcome.
  • You may change any of your submissions, any amount of times before the deadline.
  • The winner will be decided by a public poll after 3 weeks have passed.
  • You must use the template
  • You may use renders, brushes, etc that weren't designed by you as long as the artist allows commercial use of the resource!
  • The shirt must be suitable for the site
  • You may put "Username" on the shirt, which will be the username of whoever buys the shirt.
  • If you have questions, then ask. Though common sense would be helpful here.
  • Designs must relate to thehelper.net is some way, as it is the official thehelper t-shirt design competition.

KCs designs can be found here. The latest is the top left image, but they are still in work.

The Template: (Click to enlarge)

The Deadline:
All submissions must be in by: Saturday 6th June - Midnight (GMT)

Whitesock recently had a conversation with TheHelper about the T-Shirts.
This is what he said:
Thehelper said:
I like the logo on the front and design on the back but want all ideas visited. The kc logo on the pocket and a great design on the back and somehow you have to integrate the user name, for the public tshirt i would like the option of the username too so it needs a place. I dont want to set the small pocket thing and the back design as set in stone because i like the full shirt look as well

Good luck, and have fun! :D

Yeah, KC edited that hyperlink in, so don't think I did it.

> Interesting competition.
Sure is! I might even enter it. :D

Will this shirt be actually printed or is this only a e-shirt?
Because if it's going to be sold, then you can't use any copyrighted stuff.

It's going to be sold. I'm currently uploading the psd I used for my base, expect it in the main post soon. Link fixed too.

I DEMAND AN XCF OF THE t-SHIRT DESIGN!

Anyways isn't it sort of silly to put a picture on the tshirt anyways?

We have psds...find a converter?
Also, you guys aren't going to use my shirt base, you're going to use Romeks.
(Mine is available VIA PM Request but won't count in the contest)
I've uploaded a new version of my shirt. :D

Anything would be better than KC's current ones... (No offense, but they don't relate to the site at all and are just random brushes with not so good text. Not to mention the brushes weren't made yourself)

Also, how bout as an award the winner gets a free tshirt with their winning design on it and a sig?

I like that incentive :D Not that I'd actually wear the shirt. Seriously.. who would? No offence to TH.net.

Though the sig hmmm.. :p

If the design is nice enough, I wouldn't mind wearing it.

The design should come first, adding thehelper.net in there should just be a secondary thing.

I'd wear the shirt, and my design is just one version of what will probably be several.

lol. Good luck to all contestants. Why not just plop the "thehelper" logo on. Nice and simple. Maybe with a few twists and design, but the general same logo.

Do I win? :D

[*]You may use renders, brushes, etc that weren't designed by you

Unless the artist specifically says you can use it, that is illegal.

  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air
  • The Helper The Helper:

I'm looking at a solid 378 guests, but 3 members. Of which two are me and VSNES. The third is unlisted, which makes me think its a ghost.

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
