it might be 20y old, people may still learn from this thus the existence of the thread.
I changed all the gameplay constants everything with guard; I even made a trigger to disable AI guard position; and they don't move back this time but they just stand still, which is worse because if they go back at least i can make a "unit enters region" trigger to send them where I want again.
Idk why this happens but I found a workaround using the periodic triggers so everything should be ok
