so ? I had a long discussion with a friend that told me it is pointless to start wow ladder since if in SCII there are mostly terrans, you can still kill the terran, but in wow if there are mostly priests(for example) the priest won't fall.

I don't play wow so I don't know... that is why I am asking you guys :p

WoW is fairly balanced to a certain degree. It's kind of like playing rock-paper-scissors, except some classes don't have scissors. Obviously one class is better then another in certain aspects, but that doesn't say that one class can beat all. A lot of it comes down to how you play. A warrior can get smashed by a mage, but there is still a chance.

WoW would be at the top of the tier when it comes to balancing. I don't think any other game has seen as much work put into making each class fair and equal. While there are certain matches which will almost always be decided a certain way (such as warlock always beating mage), the game is a game of rock-paper-scissors, not rock-rock-rock.

Every class has their moments of glory, where the class is favored over others because of some special skill they bring, but this is only noticed because of how much calculation people go through in order to determine the 'optimal'. However, in reality, it all depends on the person behind the keyboard. Sure, there might be a tiny advantage some classes might have, but that advantage, as well as the class that has it is always changing.

The obvious choice to make in some situations are not always made when you only have a split-second to make it. This is what will distinguish better players from others, and it is this which makes ladder completely plausible.

I agree 100%. While I am no longer playing, I'll use myself as an example

Me and my brother both have hunters, both specc'ed to Survival, with almost the exact same build and gear. He out-dps's me and any other player easily by at least 1-2k in almost every fight in PVE. He is a very much sought-after DPS in any raid and/or heroic run these days. (We'll see how much this changes with the upcoming Survival nerf.) When it comes to PVP, he simply dominates, no questions asked. No doubt he is a much better player than me, because he's been playing his hunter since the beginning of vanilla and I've only been playing mine since Wrath. On the other hand, I tank very well with my Pally, but he struggles at times with his. It's all about the skill of the actual player and how well they understand/utilize their class.

i agreee with tommerbob.

when it comes to the hunter i simply rock in pvp and pve.
At first glance easy mode. same with the warlock.

But they are not easy mode when you understand the class..

i mostly healed during raids.. and i was doing well. but dps wise lemme play a hunter or lock and i out dps anyone even though my gear was never up to par .

some classes just fit like a glove.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
