I want to make some walls like you could in WarCraft II. How can I do this? I can't seem to find any wall ability, and in the doodads the walls and stone fences and what not don't connect so its pretty lame.
Help? Thanks.
There are two easy ways (there are others as well).
You can create connected walls by going to:
Doodad --> Dalaran --> Structures
The second if is you want to be able to have a unit (unit A) build walls while the game is in action.
Simply go to Unit Editor, find a building that won't be used in the game and change its appearance in the Unit Editor to one of the wall doodads in Dalaran --> Structures.
Then edit Unit A to be allowed to build that structure.
hehe, i remember those days when i was "WOAHHH, I CAN MAKE TREES...AND WATER.... AND MOUNTAINS!!! ;D" but then it was nap time D:
and there is no default "doodad" of walls like there were in the terrain of wc2 :/
instead, you have a few options of doing it. but all require some work :thdown:
1| you make a custom unit. This enables you to control the wall as if it were a building ^^ do this in the object editor, by either right clicking and hitting "create new custom unit" or the button on the toolbar in the top left.
or
2| you could make a doodad. pretty much the same concept, but it doesnt belong to any player, and doesnt have armor. just hp. much like the wc2 walls did
if you dont know how to accomplish these i can try to help first hand by makeing and example and sending it to you ^^
Thanks Edward, that helps. Still, I recall seeing curved walls in a Helms Deep game. Maybe it's something different, idk. But if you know about how to make those, I'm all ears.
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
