sounds like a cheap way to get people to make a bunch of icons for you..

I were just thinking that, especially because each person has to make 5 icons and it simply has to be for spells

The idea of the contest is not that. And, of course, if someone wants to use the icons, must ask the author and give credit. Personally, I have no project in which I could include the icons.

Actually this is just for fun. I bet he could go to wcsear.ch and get loads of icons. :D But we want to test your skills. Cmon, show what can you do!

I'm sorry, I chosed the judges before I started the contest, so you will be an contestant, if you want. I'll add you to the list, and, I you change your mind, tell me.

BTW, nice icons, but remember that the contest icons must be 100% original, not remakes ;)

Battlemapsta, wanna be a contestant?

It's nice, but...

From now, could you, people, not post examples of your work? Sign up for the contest and make the pack.

Orc_tamer, would you like to enter the contest?

Wow no replies as contestants. Maybe it's too hard or something like that for them. Maybe you should change some of the rules if no one posts as contestants for liek 4 hours?

If someone is going to take the time to make a GOOD icon (which does take more than 10 minutes).. then they will probably want to use all their hard work in their own creation.. the prizes aren't really worth it imho.. maybe you should give us cash.. yes.. cold hard cash.. :shades:

Hmmm, does anyone got moneys from posting an icon on Wc3sear.ch? Does anyone got moneys from making a hero, an spell or something like that for contests like this? Let's take the Hero Contest as an example. The prize is not really big (no offense meant, emjl3), but, still the people posted great Heroes.

And, btw, I could make a good icon-pack in about 4 h. And is not really hard work.

I think this constant isn't as bad as people are saying.
Though I myself cannot make icons, it is an interesting idea. The prize also is relevant, cause putting your icon/model on any real map made by someone else is pretty special. Even if its not your work (the map) you are still given credit and your icon is accepted by the public, since its made it as the best one in the lot. When other people use, and like, what you do, only then do you know you have done it well. :)

Well, my main reason for starting this contest was the following: I always wanted to be part in an icon contest, but nobody was hosting one, so I decided to host one :D

Anyway, stavious, thanks for supporting the contest.

Not many people have image editors such as photoshop (£200 for an image editor? no thx), which is why I think this contest isnt very popular. The hero contest on the other hand, requires no program at all (except a browser ofc.) and so is much more popular.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
