You explained yourself why it isn't MUI
Only 1 hero can have this ability. MUI is the opposite: Any unit can have this ability and cast it at anytime without variables overwriting each other. Since yours is not castable, there's only the first statement that applies.
And global variables aren't only references. If you set it to another value, the previous one is lost, thus breaking MUI.
