[Spell] Shockride Problem

Unit - A unit starts the effect of an ability.

Ability - (Ability Being Cast) is equal to Shockride
[B]Actions[/B]
Set Temp_Unit = (Casting Unit)
Set Temp_Point = (Target point of ability being cast)
Wait (Distance between (Temp_Point) and (Position of (Temp_Unit))/ 1500.)
Unit - Move Temp_Unit instantly to (Temp_Point)

I did this all free-hand, so I may be a little off. I based the original ability off of Shockwave and added a few things. My question is, is there anyway to stop the effect the target location? Whenever I do it, as soon as I cast and move, the shockwave just keeps on moving ahead and I want it to stop. Just like DotA's Burrowstrike just without the impale and based off of Shockwave.

make the shockwave have no art and no damage
make a dummy shockwave with art and damage and 100 levels and make each level have a diffrent range (level 1 has 10 range, level 2 has 20 range, level 3 has 30 range, etc. till u get to level 100 has 1000 range) and then trigger it to divide the range by 10 and then cast that level of shockwave using a dummy unit.

Well, here's the thing. What if they don't max out the whole shockwave. Like the max range is 300 but they click at 200. They'll instantly teleport to the 200 and the shockwave is going to do the full 300. Like so:

X = Caster
>>> = Shockwave
T = Teleported Area

X>>>>>>>>>T>>>>>>>>

I'm trying to get rid of the extra shockwave after T.
