All LeDoux remembers about the moment he was struck in August 1999 is that he was standing ankle-deep in a puddle when he was overcome by an intensely bright light. He woke up a half-hour later, 20 feet away, with a vague taste of battery acid in his mouth, he said. The soles of his shoes had melted, his two-way radio had exploded, and several of his teeth had shattered. The medical ID tag he wore around his neck was melted into his chest. He drove home from work that afternoon and was back on the job the next day. "I didn't even know I was hurt. I didn't realize anything was wrong," says LeDoux, a 62-year-old master mechanic from Sulphur, La. It took several weeks before he realized just how fried his circuits were—and almost six months to find a doctor who believed he'd been struck.

Shocking, indeed.

I'm afraid. Ever since I grew my hair out (and I think before then too) I have been a human lightning rod. I don't get struck by lightning, and I have never been shocked by a current, but I get static shock quite often. I can get shocked twice when I try to open my car, even when I put my hand in the pocket of my leather jacket. It burns. I have a conducting system all over my body, lol... I have a lot of arm and leg hair. At least it serves as an insect detection system...

Woa ... very electryfying

I was literally shocked in a garden variety accident My lawnmower is electric, which is great for the trees (or so they say -_- ) but when I was plugging it in, my finger got too close to the power outlet and - BZT! I jerked my hand back from reflex so fast I almost didn't feel it.

Come to think of it, I never could walk a straight line after that ...

The guy didn't even know. He just got fried, and he went to work the next day like nothing happened... Think of all the things that could have gone wrong in the time before he finally found out...
