Health Video games linked to aggression in boys

Most studies done on violence and video games support the conclusion that violent video games can increase aggressive behavior in children and adolescents, especially boys, researchers said on Friday.

An analysis of 20 years of research shows the effects can be both immediate and long-lasting.

"The majority of the studies would suggest there are effects," said Jessica Nicoll of Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida, who worked on the study.

One study showed that children who played a violent game for less than 10 minutes and then took a mood assessment test rated themselves with aggressive traits and aggressive actions shortly after playing.

wow, nice to see pshycologists wasting thier time on the theory that video games promote violence. video games are meant to portait, non-consequential enviorments, why? becuse quite frankly after coming home from nice hard, sweaty, boreing day of reality, i dont want to PLAY reality, i want to do something easy and NOT REAL. i relize that they find a tie between video games and violence, well let me give them a little dose of common sence. the gaming industry is huge, billions of dollars, all compressed into fake world of fun, magic, guns, violence, and more. BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, JOBS, BUSSNESSES, BUILINDINGS, MOVIES, it's all tied into one thing, GAMEING. Billions of dollars, now let me run this by you in more practical terms, thats more money than we have in the american EDUCATION SYSTEM. 10-20 BILLION dollars, enough to buy your self a small COUNTRY. so the fact of the matter is EVERY ONE PLAYS THEM. so relating video games to violence is like relating BREATHING to violence. everyone breathes! everyone plays games. its one of those well no F---ing duh!!! things. yea you could ask a convict has he played GTA he's might say yea, but when he murdered his wife and children you think he was doing it so he could get some bonus points? i mean come the F--- on guys. these to things are so Un-related it's stupid. and for the testing before and after video games. well mabye i could go and make you play through a puzzle about 15 times, you will fail 14 out of 15 tries, and see if your a bit angry. YOU GONNA BE A BIT AGGROVATED. why? becuse you failed, mutipul times. and when you finaly win your HAPPY, but still a bit twinged on the fact that yea it was annoting for a few minutes. YOU KNOW WHAT!?!? i would bet a outrageous amout of money, on the the idea that if you ban video games crime would shoot up. why? cuse poeple would run out of jobs, some stock would plumet, children now have waaay to much free time with no X-Box to fill it in for them. so my view on this whole Video-Game-Violence thing is to the pschologists, go get a real job, deal with the fact that video games own. and most importantly eat shit.
