Story Line: In Progress

Game: You start out in a small town called Erean, as either a male or female. This will change what your options are when choosing your next class at level 20. This game is mean't to be a long game, that you cant just get the best items and kill all the bosses in an hour. Creeps don't drop any money, so to get money to have to either do jobs(explain later), quests, or sell items. Creeps sometimes drop items that you can sell for money, but its faster to do quests. You also dont start out with spells, or skill points to learn spells, you need to buy them from stores and vendors. Some times creeps will drop spells but it is very un likely. Spells are upgradable to level 10 by buying the spell again. Spells come in 6 elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Dark. These change what the spells look like, and what they do, and you can only have one spell of each. This means there is a 7th spot open in your commands, what is this for, well I haven't though of it, it could be like a second inventory or something but I'm not sure yet. Now lets get to items, items in this game can sometimes only be used by a certain level, a certain class, and you can only have one item of each type. The types are: Head, Ring, Glove, Armor, Left hand, Right hand, and Extra(Potions, Quest items, those kinds of things.) There is also a great item system in place so you can have a full inventory and still pick up a potion to stack with the potion of the same type in your inventory. There will also be a dynamic item crafting system(Hopefully), where if you find an item that has a Slot Open, and you have a Ruby(cracked, chipped, flawed, regular, perfect.) You can add that gem to your sword and give it fire. Or sapphire, for water, ect. There will also be a dynamic quest system where only you are on the quest, only you get to get the reward, ect. Or your buddy can get the quest also and tag along. Unless the quest is a solo quest where only one person can be on the quest at a time. Jobs will be a big part of Cintio Orpg, they will be a good way to make money, jobs would include things like fishing cooking, farm worker, miner, ect. And I am hoping to have mini games for them to make it not so boring. This game will also be well balenced with heros, items, and abilities, jobs, quests, ect. there will be no uber hero that is better than all the other, or any super items that allow you to kill anything, or and super abilities that will allow you to destroy bosses in one hit, jobs that earn you more money than others at the same level, or quests fpr level ones that too easy or too hard, with balenced rewards. Spells, spells or abilities allow the player more then a hack and slash game, abilities are useful even far into the game because they use algorithms or equations that use things like 50*Level+Int, where as Level is the level of the ability, Int is your intelligence. Almost all abilities are going to be triggered to make nice eye candy for you.(I would like to find a spell maker though.) There is also a different type of level up, instead of just having a set stat amount increase you gain stat points to spend to upgrade your stats, to make your own hero yours, so along with those buyable spells your hero will be different than the others.

Team:
-Myself(Triggering, Units, Spells, Terrain, Items, Quests, and everything else in between)

If you would like to join what I need is a spell maker or two, thats all for now. If you want to join, give me a spell that I can test and use, and I'll see if I like it, if I do and it works I will add you. GUI, Jass, vJass are all okay. The requirments are, it must be Mui, leakless and lagless. It also must work to be up to level 10, and it has to also be based a bit on stats. So damage could be 10*Level of spell+Int*2

This seems exactly like every other RPG out there: pick a hero, start in a forest, kill spiders and shit to level up and get the typical items like potions and little things that increase your stats. Lame.

Tell him criticism and dont insault his map. Not everyone are good map makers. Dont just tell him what its like and then say "Lame" tell him what he should do to make a better map. Be glad I dont feel like -repping you for that

>GhostWind Hm, maybe if you actually read my description you would find out that you dont just kill things to level up, killing things doesnt earn you any money, so you can't buy items with it. And you dont pick your class from the begining, there are jobs. And how many fucking rpgs do you know that are compleatly origonal with everything in them different than all the other games in the world?

I actually like the look of the terrain a lot. Lots of RPGs try to be really cool and unique and miss the fun feeling of going on an adventure. If you can capture this feeling (good, unique quests, winding paths through a forest) your map will be good.

Keep up the good work.

Note: That being said, if I were you I'd come up with some unique system or idea that sets your map apart from others and adds spice.

I'm pretty sure I saw this before and posted about it or something, :O You sure you didn't make a new thread or something? rofl.
Oh yeah, it was about the terrain on a different thread.

I don't like the class system, how some classes are only for female/male and stuff. Men can be archers too. Look at Legolas, :O 1337 skillz. Women can be spear...women, :D

We shall see how it goes...

I'm not insulting his map, rather I'm telling him that there is no point in making a map that will be a slight variation of every other map out there that did things wrong in the first place. Furthermore, you're right that not everyone is a good map maker, but I'm not going to encourage them to be a bad map makers. I'm not going to play their shit if it sucks just because I understand that not everyone's a great map maker. Instead, I'm going to set my standards high so people have something to work towards.

If you want to negrep me, that's alright, I have over 500 and I'm not going to run out; but I'd say that negrepping me would be an abuse of the feature, as I am not actually breaking any rules, and thus I would have to return the favor. I give -5.

>GhostWind Hm, maybe if you actually read my description you would find out that you dont just kill things to level up, killing things doesnt earn you any money, so you can't buy items with it. And you dont pick your class from the begining, there are jobs.

Ok, well that's a bit of a start, but in order to pull that off you're going to need to make a shitload of interesting and original quests otherwise the game will get EXTREMELY boring.

I mean, just making enemies not give you any money is just like removing the feature and not replacing it with anything better, or even worse, thus making your map even more boring. I suggest you find another way to progress in the game other than "experience" and "leveling".

And how many fucking rpgs do you know that are compleatly origonal with everything in them different than all the other games in the world?

I don't know any; that's the fucking problem.

D.V.D. Well only this one, I gave up on silent night because it lagged too much and didnt run right.

Ghostwind Now thats better, but your right it isnt very origonal but my quests are, in Adorable Yet Abominable, this guy asks you to return his pet Gruubus the abomination, so you look around and find him, but he is eating corpses so you must hit him untill he is at 10% of his hp, then you use a leach you got from the man, and it follows you and you need to protect him untill you return him. I forgot to add there is also a talking system so you can talk to people to learn information about things. I've never heard of a quest like that, quests should just be about killing things, or it gets boring.

I'm sure a lot of the people at this site will laugh at me for this comment, probably because they have never played the game in depth before. You should add quests like they have in Runescape. Those quests were absolutely amazing; each one had a full-sized story line of its own, they were long, lots of traps and dungeons and settings that allowed you to utilize every single one of your character's skills.

Furthermore, I think items should have some kind of use other than stat bonuses. It kinda sucks when you have to upgrade your armor all the time; I like it better when the only items you will ever pick up are like enchanted artifacts, like a blade that gives you lifesteal, or a helmet that increases your int by 20%, or a ring that allows you to summon a frost elemental.

well i think we are here at the helpers to help rather bad map makers become better ones. if a newbie (i dont mean the author of this thread) starts his very first maps surely they wont be the mega super imba cool maps. everyone has to start making small maps without that many unique and hard coded features. the way to a real pro is taken step by step and better support fire wolf on his journey to a pro instead of slating him for beeing not as good as others might be.
that was just to be said by me. thank you for reading. accname.

I'm an extremely harsh critic. I find it helps people more when they get a huge push in the right direction rather than a gradual nudge, although there's always the possibility that they will go into rage mode, which can be rather problematic.

Rage mode, lol. About your terrain, it feels really like a forest but with really big paths which mess up the feeling. You should add some branches or bigger variations to tree's so you feel surrounded by leaves and you coud use light from above model in certian areas.

Yes but if I put the trees too close it will cover up your model and you wont be able to see very well. And also why the hell is everyone calling me a noob map maker >.< I've made alot of maps, and I can jass some, so I'm pretty sure I'm not a newb. This is by far not my first map either, but people can have their opinions thats why I didn't go into "rage mode" as Ghostwind put it.

As Accname put it. So this is the first time I've been called a noob map maker. Not even my first ever map posted here was I called a noob map maker, I've been called horrible terrainer, but not noob map maker. So it tells me if no one likes this map I should quit (as a noob would do then go into "rage mode"). But I wont I will listen to the critism and make my map better based on that. Also I am planing on adding a unique item equip system based on abilities rather than multiboards, ect.

I believe I would have more faith in this project for you than your first one anyways, Fire-Wolf. You're terraining has improved a lot, like you learned its better to have linear pathing in an ORPG than just a gigantic open bit of land. You're able to work better with creature placement, and a lot more when its linear.

Good Luck. Check out my new ORPG project if you want to.
