Terrain Contest II​


Introduction:
The last terraining contest went well, and with the change of seasons it's time for a new contest and new theme. Welcome to the Terraining Contest - II.​


The Theme:
The theme for this terraining contest is Autumn/Fall. Autumn is on it's way, and i think it would be fun to prepare the forums for a good harvest season.

The piece of terrain must have something to do with Autumn. This includes but is in no means limited to All Hallows Eve, Thanks Giving, and the telltale signs of the fall.​


Information:
To join, simply send me your submission via PM.
Do not post your submission here. Doing so will result in disqualification of the terrain piece.
Also, Do not reveal which one is yours. Doing so will also result in disqualification of the piece.
You can send me WIPs, and I'll periodically post all the WIPs I have, so that people can comment.​


Rules:
  • Your submission must fit in with the theme.
  • Submissions must be in the form of a screenshot
  • One submission per member, one member per submission
  • Do not reveal which terrain is yours
  • Do not submit your terrain here
  • PM me your submission. You can also PM me WIPs, which I will post here. Please specifically state whether or not your submission is WIP.
  • You may change your submissions any amount of times before the deadline.
  • Imports are allowed.
  • Photoshopping is not allowed. Cropping is not included.
  • Be sure to keep a copy of your map. I will contact the winners to make sure their terrains aren't photoshopped or edited.


Grading:
At the deadline, I will create a public poll for members to vote on which terrain they like the most.
More details on the voting will be posted when I create the poll.

Due Date:
All submissions must be in by Saturday, 12th September. Midnight (GMT). Any submissions PMed to me after this time will not be accepted.​

Man... I'm no good at terraining. Hopefully we see more epic/dynamic terrains.

... OMFG. Another hard theme.... summer was confusing enough. I should have submitted my last one for this one instead :p

Alot of very talented people participated in the last contest, im exited to see some of the same and some new comers in this one.

I just want to see Belgarath again, his from the behind win was unexpected for me. He has some mad skills.

I don't know if I should participate in this one. Its just like the summer theme. But I do have a good idea of what to do.

Gah, time to start searching around for some Autumn textures and models...
Might be forced to think out side the box, and not just have trees. >.<

I think that autumn will be easier than summer. I may enter if I have enough free time.

After Contest II is over i will open a thread for suggestions, suggestions will be added to a poll, and the winning idea will be used for Terraining Contest - III.

is it allowed to have unit models and all sorts of animations or is it meant to be just terrain and doodads?

    How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?

    The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats

    I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be

    Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that

    Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings

    And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that

    These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars

    Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality

    Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
