A Swedish motorist caught driving at 290km/h (180mph) in Switzerland could be given a world-record speeding fine of SFr1.08m ($1m; £656,000), prosecutors say.

The 37-year-old, who has not been named, was clocked driving his Mercedes sports car at 170km/h over the limit.

Under Swiss law, the level of fine is determined by the wealth of the driver and the speed recorded.

In January, a Swiss driver was fined $290,000 - the current world record.

"The 37-year-old, who has not been named,"

He must be pretty rich if he can't be named.

He must be pretty rich to be fined 1million dollars.

Quick, we know the speed and fine, now we just need the formula and then we can figure out his wealth xD

Well, f(W) = $1,000,000. S(peed), F(ine), and W(ealth) are all directly related.

The possible combinations are (assuming each variable is used once... Naming all possible combinations would be infinite):

JASS:
Template: S W = F | W S = F
S+W=F
S*W=F
S^W=F
W^S=F

I THINK I got them. I'm probably missing a few.

Anyhow, plug in the data:

JASS:
105.633+W=1000000
105.633*W=1000000
105.633^W=1000000
W^105.633=1000000

Solve:

JASS:
~105.633+W=1000000 W = ~999895.367
~105.633*W=1000000 W = ~9466.738613880132
~105.633^W=1000000 W = ~2.964720399406
W^~105.633=1000000 W = ~1.13972593689259(recur)

We can thus conclude that the formula is more complex than using each variable once.

(Speed is converted to MPH for the sake of using the same measuring system (MPH is Standard and USD is American (which uses Standard)))

What is there to say, we love spiritus, women and speed:D

he must be pretty rich if his car is capable of driving 180mph.

That does not require to much money to do, my friends car could go that far if he puts about 40000Sek in parts into the engine^^

Just imagine how fast that is x.X
I wonder where he drove. I mean he's stil 170 kmh faster then the other cars, no way he can dodge anything if there are even just a few cars on the road.

Ignorance! We can't just say "You're a bad boy, gimmie all your money!", because everyone would have no money.

And as for "Just imagine how fast that is", my bike will do around 160mph...and I won't. Shits scarrrrry on a bike, and I'm way more comfortable with a bike than a car, so I'm thinking I'll pass at going 180mph in a car. Lol

LOL That's not ignorance.

If you put your and someone's life at risk, maybe, even ruin someone's life
because of something stupid. Then you can/should pay for it.

Did he? No. That IS ignorance.
But It could happen. no? “it will never happen to me”

These are the type of ignorant "maniac" careless, drivers that cause accidents
In this case, his carelessness caused him this fine.

Carelessness? Reread the article...

At any rate, that's not the point that DDR is talking about...

You're missing my point man...
We can't just be like "Hey, you did something wrong, give me all of your money!". That would have way too many negative side effects to deal with, and people would hate the government, and that would mean really bad problems...

Use your brain, mangggg...

Stupid, a rich gentleman knows the place to race his car is the circuit.

As for the formula, how is wealth defined? Yearly income? Current capital? Current money in the bank?
