Is it possible to arrange Skills in a Spellbook?

For example if I add a Skill and set the Button Position to (0,0) and another Skill to (0,1) etc., sometimes the skill have other arrangements.
(Even though I also added them in order at the Spell List.)

Attachment:
Code:
(x,y)

0,0 1,0 2,0 3,0
0,1 1,1 2,1 3,1
0,2 1,2 2,2 3,2

If their 'normal' button position are set correctly, they should appear in their set positions.

Maybe since a spellbook isn't technically the normal UI, try setting 'Research' and 'Turn Off' to the other positions you want too?
Spellbooks also just may scramble them no matter what you do.

The only thing I could think, is every time a new spell is learned, check what one's the hero has and remove then re-add them in order in-game.
That would suck, and would be a ton of work though

As far as I know, there is no way to set a spell's position in a spellbook. It ignores the usual settings for this.

I tried to set the 'Research' and 'Turn Off' to my positions.
I think I have to trigger it just for the sake of aesthetic appearance, oh boy.

You have a ton of work ahead of you to trigger that.
Honestly, it's a minor annoyance, but I wouldn't do all that just for aesthetics.

With that information, you could just add abilities to a hero, pre-load them (Spawn then remove them), and that will let you keep the order you want.

The skills appear in the spell book in the order they are loaded by the game. If you're careful, you can get them in the order you want.

First of all, thanks guys for your precious help.

I was amused when I read the article at the other forum weep :)

In fact I created a trigger which adds the skills in the order I want them to appear. (Wasn't that hard though.)

Regarding the OrderID: What happens if two skills have the same OrderID?
(I can imagine if one unit has two different abilities with the same OrderID
they would either not cast anything or both skills.
But what happens if two different units have the same abilities? (I guess there won't occur errors.)

In that case one can assign the first 11 OrderID starting with "absorb" - "attackground" and use them in the
correct order inside the spellbook. I suppose it will work for every unit, wouldn't it?

If the same unit has two spells with the same Order String, it will cast a random one.
If two different units cast the same spell, or spells with the same Order String, it works fine.

Not completely true, if a unit has 2 abilities with the same order ID it will always cast the same one of them, not a random one.

but you can have as many spells share the same order ID as you like as long as no unit got more then one of them at once.

Apparently not. I gave a unit 2 Crushing Wave abilities, one as a Unit ability and the other as a Hero ability which it learned later. It casted the Hero one first.

You could have a "Blank" ability, based on Channel without the Visible option checked. You can add that into a spellbook as a filler ability as many times as you like to determine the position of the other spells. Tried and tested solution.
