building a computer on a very small budget...

I already have the HAF 912 as my tower...i got really lucky when i saw it but i got jipped 5 bucks on the price :p

http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/landing/haf912/home.php

so next thing im looking to get is my mother board

ASRock N68-VS3 UCC AM3 mATX Mainboard

http://www.startechsandiego.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=675_726&products_id=2956

Would that motherboard fit inside my tower?

if not would
ASRock 870ICAFE AM3 AMD870 ATX Mainboard
http://www.startechsandiego.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=675_726&products_id=2959

and
AMD Athlon64 II X3 455 3.3GHz 1.5MB Skt AM3 Box
http://www.startechsandiego.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=673_719&products_id=3440

be a good base for a budget gaming PC?im trying to keep the price down as much as possible since i dont have much money...

thanks for all the advice

any atx/matx board should fit (and it's a large case, you shouldn't have issues)

what is your budget and is this for gaming or not?

also, does everything have to be from that website?

sounds good ill probably double check when i get there...

for gaming ofc...itll probably end up right around 300-400 dollars within the next few months since my birthday is approaching and i shall have the rest of the money ill need.

and yes...cant buy online and its like 2 miles away from where i live :D...shall probably have them build the computer as well unless i can figure out how

I don't think you can get a decent computer at that price from them.. mainly because the prices on the hard drives and graphic cards are really high

Those are the most expensive hard drives I have seen in a while.

well the graphics card im looking at is

EVGA 1GB GT430 DDR3 SLi PCI-Express (01G-P3-1335-KR)

http://www.startechsandiego.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=672_764&products_id=3324

it looks decent for the price...i could always try best buy or something...

and i might just have to ask one of my friends to order the hard drive online for me or something...but i might just use the one in my laptop until i can find a good deal on one

And the reason i was asking about the first Mobo was that is built for mATX so i need to know if itll fit in my "regular" sized tower

that graphics card is NOT meant for gaming.. it's a low-power card for systems that don't have an integrated card, nothing more

this 6770 is a much better deal for around $70 AR

that graphics card doesn't even meet the recommended system requirements for sc2

look here

let me put up some components:

lets start with the intel bundle from your shop with the 4gb ram, that's 225
then add a $30 PSU and a $80 hard driveand your at 335, add the graphics card from above, and you will come out at around 400, with no CD/DVD drive, so you will need to install windows from a flash drive

the above is with ONLY the graphics card being bought online, the PSU and HDD bought locally from best buy

honestly though I would just walk into a store and buy a $400 visa gift card with your cash, and then buy everything online - you would get quite a bit more out of it

  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
