If you want to be happy and satisfied with your life then move to Denmark, according to a 156-nation UN survey.

Northern Europe leads the way for providing happiness but residents of Sub-Saharan Africa are the least satisfied with their lives, according to The World Happiness Report 2013.

The top five happiest countries in the world were Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden, according to the report published by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Denmark also took top spot last year.

The UK is the 22nd happiest country in the world ahead other nations including Germany (26), Japan (43), Russia (68) and China (93).

A lot of things is at play when measuring a country's happiness.

-The general living standards of the people.
-How a country is governed.
-Freedom.
-Trust between a country's citizens (fx. if you ask for directions, you will get the right answer. Or you can leave your bag at the counter in a store and it will be there when you return.)
and so on.

The Social Currency (or capital)(which also includes some of the above points) also has a big part in determine how happy a country is.

How do you know that's the truth. Well, numbers can always be manipulated.

Hah. Well sure they can. But try not to be too paranoid. Especially about a statistic like this.
Don't worry. I'm sure the security while doing the research was top notch. After all it would be devastating if a country somehow manipulated their way to the top places.
Think about the consequences.

You're just bummed out because the UK is a crappy place to live ^^

These surveys are dumb. Happiest, pft. Your level of happiness might not even be on my radar of happy and vice versa. What does it say about me that I'm living in SC, USA and completely content with my life? Especially when 9/10 people (me being the remaining 1 :D) are unhappy with living in the county my base is centered in.

Perception is reality, I guess. And majority wins? That applies here, as well.

It says that you are the 1/10 that pull your country up. While the majority does not agree with you.
You might be fine and happy and all that, but (if we take your example) most of your country's citizens are not.
Of course you can't use this survey on each individual. Just as a general measurement.
I Denmark, apparently, the most people are happy with their life. Whereas the US more people are unhappy with their life (apparently not you).

But my point is if the surveyed was done with 10 people and 9 were unhappy, that's 90%. What about the next 10? Or the next 100? Or the next 1 million?

Until these surveys are surveying the entire population, they're not logically correct or even believable  I could stand on the street and interview the next 10 happiest looking people and get a positive number. Meanwhile, I could find the 10 most miserable sumbitches...

You pickin' up what I'm puttin' down, here?

How do I move there so I can take advantage of this?

Apparently I'm not welcome in Denmark. I thought you were supposed to be nice?

If you can figure out how to move here, then by all means come.
It has nothing to do with you not being welcome but more your lack of knowledge on travel.

Besides.
The survey says we are the happiest people, not the most polite.

Perhaps. If you don't know I guess it doesn't matter ;)
