Main Tileset?

So, as you may or may not have heard, MapCraft, are creating a Strategy for their first project.

Now, we wonder, what tileset shall we use as a base? Of cours, we'll be adding other tiles to the set, and removing some that were originally in there, but what tileset do you think should be used as a base set?

I like the village tileset the most (not sure why) and I also like sunken ruins alot but it`s a strategy map so I don`t know. But I say village as main tileset! :thup:

Thats a nice opinion you have, I agree with Suken Ruins though, with a strategy, and it's a realistic strategy, so I'm not sure you find big Tiles in the middle of the ocean!

Just to correct your english, it's beautiful, (for future references), but I know, the green is boring, but it's realistic so hey!

I didn't mean that Fall wasn't realistic, I meant 'Grass' is realistic in general.

I like Ashenvale, its basically the ultimate tileset. Because it has so many varieties of tiles you can use, and they all go together well.

It just has such a good atmosphere

Felwood is lovely, especially for cinematic maps, but, well, yeh.

Exactly. Felwood is still quite good though, it's nice and lovely dovely.

By the way, everyone, we will be changing the tiles around, we just need a base.

Sunken Ruins is good, but it's not realistic, as I've mentioned before, and although it could be Medieval, that'd only be if magicians were real (I mean like the Merlin type).

You can open the map after using the weu enhancer by using any editor; including newgen.
This allows you to create a custom tileset with more than the default amount.

Plus while you're messing around on clanbom;

How to allow terrain to go up 90* and how to allow 480x480

While we're talking about 480x480, here's a small test I did with it. 480x480 is completely safe and takes up only 400-500kb total (without anything else in it)

Those are totally useless (except the MiscData.txt part). JASS NewGen already has those things enabled; you do not need to use WEU for it.

How do we increase the amount of tiles a custom tileset can hold than? Unless I'm missing an option to do that in newgen..

I don't recommend using the actual weu, just it's enhancer which still allows you to work on the map in newgen. Just with a considerably higher amount of tiles to choose from.
