Investigatory Project in Biology (need ideas)

Due to my mentally retarded mind, I have a problem that I can't think of any investigatory projects that involve Biology..

I am currently in the 2nd Year of High School (Philippines, meaning, there's no Junior High)..

Unsure where to post this T_T..

Any help is greatly appreciated (if you DID try >.>)

I think the grade of our project is from about finding protein inside a fish's scales (via "liquifying" it and feeding it into chicken, then check weight) to higher.. And no, that idea is taken and I already know the result anyway..

I want something that's not really that obvious like "which survives? a plant with soil or a plant with no water and sunlight" >.>..

I'm not so certain on what you want, but think a cool project would be about plants. You could do one on which plant survives the longest; a water plant in a dark closet v.s. a plant with sunlight and no water. This one wouldn't be so obvious, and people will probably be interested in the result. If you don't have time to do this, I suggest you check out a few sites for ideas.

A friend and I did a project on the effects of caffeine. You need around 100 volunteers though.

I'm sorry, even when I'm highly expected of from my peers I usually disappoint them because I'm extremely lazy. So my ideas probably aren't that outstanding, but you surely can find something on Google if you put some time into it.

Plants can be boring.... Test the interaction of insects in a controled enviroment. I used to do this with friends with black/red ants in a bottle filled with grass, dirt, and sticks. They usually eventually faught, really fun to watch :thup:

see if soda makes a plant grow better than water. I did this once, and it actually did. I wond first place at my elementry school for it, and got a gold ribbon (not a winner, but good rank) in the state science fair

I like the soda idea but I think I'll extend it to "What kind of soda makes plants grow faster? Coke, Orange Soda or Plain Carbonated Soda?" I dunno, I'm naturally stupid =P..

I dunno. Soda's main ingredient is water. So whichever soda with the most water would make the plant grow the most.... But I'm sure the plants would probably die because soda is also known to do the opposite of what water does (I couldn't think of the proper word). So, this may not be the best idea.

I don't want to have many different plants as my "test subjects". The simplest one that is very cheap is a "mongo seed" or "mongos".. It grows very fast and grows just on a petri dish with tissue paper and just sprinkled with liquid...


I need more ideas =P..
