(Also I disovered a glitch whilst recording, in which the timer depletes quicker when you retry (depletes faster and faster with every retry), I've fixed this now but it's not public yet)

Awesome. Here's a thought.
Add in a "super meter", after killing x zombies you activate it to run faster, jump higher, ect.

Ooh you mean like Adrenaline? Nice idea ;O.

I'm working on something similar, except it's based around how well you play, and instead of giving you advantages, it adds a rush of different zombies from all spawn locations ;D!

For zombie ideas, i'd guess like really small,fast zombies, that do small damage but are hard to hit and comes in swarms - easily countered by the heatray or by explosives.

Maybe you could have a zombie that stays at the edge of the screen, using other zombies for cover - and fires spikes from the ground - like the sunken lurkers from starcraft - would put a bit of pressure on you to stay alive.

Also i agree with the idea from kcRage102 - would give you a nice feel of achievement that you managed to survive and get something cool from it.

For an easter egg, you could have a civilian waving for help from a window (you cant save her) but if you shoot her - a message comes up saying "You Evil B*****d!" (without the asteriks of course, unless you want to keep em).


Maybe you could add an achievements list? Seems a tad popular - and everyone likes to get achievements :D

Right now, I've got the zombies that I'm sticking with the zombies I've got so far ;P, that idea's mildly similar to the Dog Zombie, which is basically a fast zombie in that when it gets close enough to the player, it will jump some kind of large height and knock them over.

It's not exactly small, and it won't come in swarms, but it won't be seen on its own too often ;).

The zombies aren't really capable of any special powers in this, for instance, the poison zombie explodes because it is full of nuclear acid, how would spikes come out of the ground because of this zombie? And why would it hide if it's a zombie?

Zombies usually attack people in hope of finding brains and flesh ;O.

Also i agree with the idea from kcRage102 - would give you a nice feel of achievement that you managed to survive and get something cool from it.

Somehow, in a conversation about the game with a friend, I ended deciding to add Zombie Terodactyls as an easter egg ;P.

Maybe there could be a certain type of zombie that when you light it on fire, it dosen't take damage but rather turns into a flesh eating zombie ON FIRE! And not only can it attack you, but it lights YOU on fire if you touch it.

So effectively, a normal zombie that's immune to fire?

Considering the zombie types already in the game, it'd be pretty difficult to find a unique zombie-type, so perhaps suggest something else? But thanks for the suggestion ;P.

how do you make games like this? what program is it and how can i get it?

I use Adobe Flash CS3, you can download a free trial from www.adobe.com/products/flash, however, getting the full version isn't possible unless you have alot of money, or if you find some good deals on sites like Amazon or Ebay ;O.

You need to be sure that you're going to learn how to make games with Flash if you're thinking of buying it though, learning the language to make the games isn't something that can be done in days or weeks, it takes alot of practice to get good enough to make a game worth doing, if you don't think you can put that kind of effort in to it, then I wouldn't save up for it (Unless of course you want to make animations instead)

NNZG Weaponry Tests - 14 Weapons - Weapon Test Environment + Inventory

  • 8 Weapons Added
  • Transition Added
  • Overdrive Added
  • Headshot System Added
  • Low Quality Removed (just to show you why it's there, go ahead, spawn a bunch of zombies and trigger the fire)
  • Fixed exploit allowing you to shoot multiple bullets at once for a few seconds.
  • Adjusted blood particles.
  • Reload Bar Fixed.

A relatively big update ;O, I plan to have 4 weapons per category, so far I'm 5 weapons away from achieving that :3.

Looks great Jindo! Good work on it.

My only "complaints" so far:
  • The guns could use some more "force". As in, when you shoot them, if they "bounced back" a couple of frames, it would add a sort of force behind the guns.
  • The blood could use some touch ups. For example, it sort of bounces all over the place and isn't entirely obvious. Try making it thicker, less of it and make it "heavier", so it sort of drops to the feet of the zombies and stays there, instead of bouncing off of the stage.

That's really all I noticed that stuck out. I'm not sure how hard any of that is to program, so ignore it if it's too challenging. Keep it up!

It'd be nice if we could set the timer amount.

The game will have timers set by default, this is not only to make the game-play more efficient, but it goes in-line with other plans (the main being that Stephen is composing 5 minute tracks for the survival modes, and he's been given the theme of something which goes from calm to stressful over the 5 minutes, to fit these 5 minutes of surviving the zombies (which get stressful progressingly quick).

Dog Zombie Test

At the moment it can't hurt you, it will follow you and stick with other dogs it meets, if set on fire, it burns for half as long as a regular zombie would. It also devours severed hands twice as quickly, and is able to climb up walls.

The screenshot at the top shows me getting swamped by a large group of dog zombies, there's still a lot to do to get them intelligent enough to know what to do instead of following a heavily armed zombie specialist ;O.

Yeah I can understand that happening ;D, good thing you'll be restricted to the insides of the level in the real game.

There were some problems with the dog vanishing when it fell and hit the ground too quickly (it fell through the level I think), which I fixed.

The other "issue" (which I might leave because it's a fun one) is in the environment test, on the ledge in the middle, if the dog zombie stops on one of the corners of it, it starts rotating repeatdly ;D.

I made the dog spin in mid air.
If you jump to the middle level, then hug the wall and fall to the base, then move right so the dog comes and then you move back left and you have a spinning dog.

If you do the same thing, and hug the wall but only fall to the middle platform it gets stuck in the air.
All are solved if you move.

I believe this is the levels fault though.
