Lol, I guess its true waaaks barely ever complete his projects, he finishes it but then aborts it when it starts to get good :S. LotAL, Villian Wars and RotG are some good examples. But I guess it doesn't matter, but waaaks, please do not abort this project!

of course not, im too careful on my files for now, like i upload them in my email so it wont get lost, and second, i always save the latest open map inside my Flash Disk

please dont include Villan Wars, its just a first attempt at creating AoS maps, but because of it, i love to create aos maps, and one thing though, i was inspired by these maps:

Age of Myths
Tides of Blood
Advent of the Zenith
Desert of Exile


i was inspired, and never stopped making AoS maps, like after finishing a map, i will play one of those maps, and again, i wanted to create another aos map, lawl

i thought someone would post about the knockback and bridge bug
when the unit is knockbacked and slides near the bridge, the bridge will be destroyed, lawl, but later on the bridge will revive itself

Offtopic: My story as a map-maker. Don't bother reading it, it's really terrible!:eek:
When I explain about mine, well, I was inspired by DotA and foremost, X Hero Siege. I have created my first real map based on LoaP, Life in a City. It was a great start but unfortunately a user named Farrownarr stolen my map and he turned my beta version into his, Life in a Manor City.

Then I made another map with AoS and Melee combinations. But I was tempted to plagiarize due to extreme envy and was passed on to the first map, Castle Wars Professionals. Not much but it will be obvious to hawkeyes. I had to regret for that. Coincidentially, it's fate was sealed when my uncle's hard disk was fried due to overheating, and lost the open source maps for CWP and Life in a City. However, Life in a City's open source was in EpicWar, a miracle.

After that regretful moment, I passed on to a better approach. I made an edited version of another version of Battle for Middle Earth, which was edited by LiLpHiL and originally made by Legend-fire, and credited 'em of course. The four versions were a success and were the most popular maps of mine in 2006. I've ended my hibernation in Dec. 2007, a year where not even a single map of mine was created.

I had high hopes for 2008 and as both a freshman and a sophomore this year, I will anticipate a spark of success after this year. I have created a blog/website which will act as the foundation of my map-making career this year. Then I have created my second real map, Ant Attack. Made from scratch and better with my newfound knowledge in GUI and JASS. Then I have created Demolition X, but, same as CWP and Life in a City, I lost the open-source files for it, and so it remains v1.0, but atleast it's playable.

Anyway, after that tragic loss, I made up my mind to participate a Spell Contest in this site. After that, my mom and I went on a summer vacation tour to Singapore, and was the best trip ever.

Then I made, up to this date, Scourge and Wars and Tropical Assault and worked as a terrainer for some guys.

I create my maps in a this manner; I take the map designing first, then the playtesting phase to the last. Whatever things that I find diffrenent or any bugs I spot in the playtest will be fixed in a session I call 'pre-release rush' or simply 'The Rush', the period of development before the first release of the map, and before the release of another version. So three sessions, Map Desiging, Playtest and The Rush (if you're inclined to adapt this manner to your maps then it's actually ok).

Right now, I'm developing v1.5 for Tropical Assault and a new CTF map. I'll also be working on a brand new AoS this year, around October, and I'll make sure that it will be a great pinoy AoS with unique features. The making of this AoS map will be the biggest challenge I'll have to face yet in another period of time. Then at the 1st quarter of 2009 it'll be a revival of my dead projects, or projects that were once proposed for release, but unsuccessful and unreleased up to now.

My goal as a map-maker is simply to become the best pinoy map-maker and I'll do everything to reach this goal. I should at least leave a great legacy behind as a map-maker, because I'll stop Wc3 map-making once Sc2 is released or if Wc3 loses its popularity. My How To Draw Manga books will then be my next undertaking, as I'll learn how to apply the artform after my map-making career is over.

Okay, now here are the screenies, [though it loads a little bit slow, so please try to be patient]. Sorry I was a bit late, but here ya go!

i can say we are all great map makers, not only compared to pinoy map makers but the whole world, but im not saying we are the greatest map maker in this world

My first trip overseas was to Singapore, and it was great!

Well, if I could then I can make a map preview for this map:thup:. I'm doing these things to help ya out and make GaS a great AoS map.

the update is so slow because im too busy of something, consider it as a DotA tournament, yes i competed in a dota tournament, i was recruited because they know i play well, even though i dont play too much now, they still believe in me, they recruited me because, i can create line ups, i can manage the team and can play mind games, im really not so famous at all when it comes to dota, only those guys who played too much PUBLIC games became famous, i dont play too much dota because im waiting for an INHOUSE game (team vs team), which is a serious game and more like teamplay strategy

dont worry about the slow delay, the tournament starts in saturday, meaning after that day, the update will be fast again

i created a 256x256 pixels image in photoshop cs3 saved it as targa and 24 bit pixels, imported it into my map and changed the path to "war3mapPreview.tga", but when i tested it, it turns out white, what did i do wrong?

im almost done making Morpheus, just 2 skills and voila! another god will be created
what makes the update so slow?
if i create 1 god, its like creating 2 heroes, because 1 for the soul and 1 for the god, so that makes the update slow

maybe ill release the beta version after creating 8 gods per team, and finally release the public version after all bugs in the beta version are removed

Don't know why that happens. I use Photoshop CS and everything works out fine. I don't know with CS3, but maybe you've added some alpha channels that's why it won't show up.

I also wanted to join in a gaming tournament once. In our school we also have a tournament ongoing for the following games and events; Rubik's Cube, Mystery Case Files, Text Twist and NBA Live 2008. (they had a DotA tournament before but after that our principal banned it). I chose Text Twist because it's an english vocabulary game. It'll be a piece of cake, but some 4th year students will also be joining Texttwist as well so I don't know who will win. Also, I saw a Terran Demo of Starcraft II yesterday and it was more than what I've expected. I expect that it will be a host game for gaming events like World Cyber Games and e-Stars, in the future. I can't wait for its release!

I'm always in when it comes to screenshots and beta testing, so Saturday next week, I'll capture more screenies and test the beta version.:thup:

what makes the update slower?
-after any update is done, i always test the map and see if it works fine
-school projects
-others
to make it faster, i will not test the map after any update is finished, so that beta testers will have any use at all, so that means, my job for now is, edit edit edit, and i'll leave all bugs and glitches to the beta testers, with this, i can update the map faster, and beta testers will be finally useful

we tried it. Lan game that is... 3 on 3.

although there is a shortcut between the two lanes in the middle.. we kinda hoped there was also one more farther ahead... behind the world tree.

they say it was ok. but it lacked counter equipments.

I used Poseidon Class, it was... overpowered since the beginning. I let enemies attacked me to get the attack speed buff.. then I used the bonus damage(searing arrow-like) ability.

of course I was the first one to evolve. >: )

Learning the 3rd Ability, the one that pushes enemies back. specified the chances in learning tooltip, but it doesn't specify it once it's learned tooltip.

Drown Ability, It didn't specified that it was channeling.

the character was pretty much a force to be reckon it with, combined with boots of speed. even ranged units stand no chance.

of course it lacks counter equipments, because it is not dota, this game revolves around your character, if your character cant beat the hell out of another character, then that means the character you are using is not the best way to counter your opponent's character

i can say mastering the game needs more practice and observation about their abilities, their armor types, their elements, and their attack type

ill fix those tooltips

EDIT: Ok, played it.

First of all, do you still need more storylines for the new heroes?

I see that heroes are not completed yet.
Also, the buff for the creeps for "RAGE" has a tooltip error - "increased" is spelled "incresed". And creeps are too weak, I think. Damage-wise they are good, but their health is too low. They die quickly, and heroes attack pretty fast, too. I suggest raising the health of the units at least by 50 to 150.
Why do we only have 1 inventory slot? I know we evolve, but there is still a good amount of game time with the soul.
Ares is pretty OP. :) His base stats are very strong, and passives and stats are really what matter later game.

But it was a cool game, good luck! :thup:

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
