Yeah I think it would be best if Seth judged what was poetry / what was not because he has more unpublished poetry & is more badass then all y'all (including me) put together :)

Seth Cross has more published poetry than I do, but I have plenty of poetry I didn't officially publish under the pen name Mark Saline. I also write a lot of literature in private, so I can not possibly measure myself accurately to Seth Cross's success. I'm also certain he does his share of private writing sessions too. Seth Cross is a very qualified judge and poet, which means he pwns us all, noobs. :p

I dunno if I could think of anything to post this time around. I'm too busy writing articles and essays for the school newspaper and creative ideas don't seem to flow as naturally as thoughts do for me now... Maybe instead of making excuses, I'll work on a petty poem. I dunno, I just don't feel like it. Wow, that surely makes me sound like a hardcore writer.

Okay, we'll make a deal. I'll write a poem, and it'll be crappy and artless like everything else I write. Lets go!

Here goes.

A Tree by the Sea

How truly noble is the tree
That stands forever by the sea

Its mighty limbs extend a leaf
To those in sorrow or in grief

For a wiser being is nonexistent
Than one whose birth in time is distant

For who has seen more than the tree
That stands forever by the sea?

Here is mine, it really is no good since I made it for less than 2 hours.

For The Greater Good

I am a Peasant,
who works on a plot of ground.
almost all day, everyday,
I tend to my crops all year round.

this plot of land I wield,
is on another man's grip.
but I am truly blessed to have,
a lord who is generous and just.

our cycle starts in,
by cultivating the fields.
where bessy the carabao comes in,
with a rusty old plough that she wields.

the next part, is the hard part,
planting the crops is no joke.
sitting next to the plowed land,
carefully planting seeds.
from the time the sun rises from the east,
to the time the sun sets on the west.
there is no getting better than this.

for the time we spent to cultivate,
at the end of the day we celebrate.
we pray to the God properly,
in hope that we gain prosperity.

The golden fields symbolize,
the perfect date of harvest.
As we sold of crops away for good,
We look to the sky and felt really good.
for we put the smile on our country's children,
and use it as a motivation to do the cycle again.

I want to sign up for this one.

I have not written for awhile but I am working on something right now.

I hope I can remember how.

Yes, that's how it works.

It's a test of your creativity. You have to find a way to tie that theme into something poetic.

OH! I should mention there are no limits... Meaning people in this forum who have made drug-references can post such poems [new poems] in here

So long as it is a plant drug, obviously.

I never make references to drugs in my poetry. lol

one quick question, How many times can I say Fuck in my poem?

I absolutley love this poem. The flow and serentity is transmitted so well.
It actually inspired me to write a quick response to show my appreciation.

How truly delicious is the tree
That fills my lungs with THC

Its mighty nugs extend a brief
Moment of euphoria and fine keef.

For a better nug is nonexistent
Than one whose high is irresistant

For who has smoked more of this tree
That filled my lungs with THC?

LOL thanks man. I liked yours more than mine, though. (Mine wasn't about smoking something). :p

Is this your actual entry, Bud, or just a response?

I challenge you to a weed-poem battle... your move, bro.

I am the master of this plant
I keep on at it whilst others can't

When you're too stoned to smoke any more
I'll be the last one to hit the floor.

I watch it grow, and bloom and change
The varieties are beyond any range.

They come as strains, like Blueberry and Chronic
You can smoke it, eat it or make a weed tonic.

The highs are all different, some down and some out,
And other times they make you so stoned that you pout.

But forever remember that this is my plant,
I keep on at it whilst others can't.

Sorry for being late. Remember I'm always a bit late because of alot of work.

Most importantly, please indicate if a poem you've posted here will be your final entry.

[Updated the list of entries]

Here's my poetry of druggy plants and it's just some challenge (this is a rough draft):

Weed will get you hooked,
The silhouette of its leaves,
The addictive potential is what gives,

The wind deforming the trail of smoke,
It went to my last bottle of Coke,
Following the trail like a lion on the hunt,
Like it was my lovely's pheromones.

High has been let loose,
It's something I want and don't want to lose,
Now I'm falling down like a hunted moose.

Here's my final draft for my entry, written in the style of Shakespeare.

TWILIGHT
Overtaking teenage girls everywhere.
Growing, snaking, like a deadly weed.
Will we ever get it out of our hair?
Time will tell, though it has planted its seed.
But a revolution member am I
Bringing the bright rose of anti-Twilight.
The vampires sparkle, instead of die,
When the sun catches them when they're outside.
This series is like a poison oak vine,
Choking time and money from all its fans.
Watch as up the trees of great books it climbs,
Fangirls will do what the author commands.
To conclude this long and tiresome rant,
Twilight is like a deadly, poisoned plant.
