The Spell Idea Thread

Yes, it's another one of these. Hopefully this one will get nice and full with ideas :D

If you have any spell ideas, post them here. All spell ideas have to be triggered spells. Not things like storm bolt with a different missile.

Why you do't say that you need ideas for your map, it's more simple and easy.
Maybe because I don't need ideas for my map.

Type: Targetable
Targets: Enemy, Ground, Organic.
Description: Suppresses the target unit into a frustration, increasing attack speed by 400% and adding +550 damage, the unit cannot attack or cast spells and takes damage overtime, it also reduces target's movement speed. Lasts 10 seconds.
Damage: 10/20/30/40
Mov. speed reduction: 10%/20%/30%/40%
Range: 700

+400% attack speed and +550 damage?!
10 damage per second, -10% movement and lasts 10 seconds.

I'd rather cast that on my ally, not enemy. That would make a peasant wipe out an entire army.

Good idea for a thread. Very useful.

Ahh... What's the point in increasing attack speed and damage if the unit can't attack anyway?

Here's my shot at some spells.
Name: Frostwave
Type: Missile
Targets: Enemy, Ground
Description: Sends out a cold wave of frost that damages and slows all enemies in its path.
Damage: 75/125/175 [Damage = 25+(50*level of skill)]
Movement Speed Slow: 10/20/30% [Can be changed to avoid OP'ness]
Slow Duration: 3/4/5 [Again, can be changed]
Cooldown: 25/21/17 seconds [I'm thinking in DotA terms/timing]
Range: 600
Let me know if I forgot anything.

Name: Blitz [Random name, don't even know if it represents skill]
Type: Blink?
Targets: Ground
Description: Blinks to a targeted spot, stunning and damagin all opponents in a 350 AoE.
Damage: 50/100/150 [Damage = (50*level of skill)]
Stun Duration: 1/1.5/2 [Can be increased/decreased]
Cooldown: 20/15/10 seconds [I'm thinking in DotA terms/timing]
Range: 300/400/500 [Can be increased/decreased, can also be changed to a constant range.]
Again, let me know if I forgot anything.

I tough someone posted, thats why i did double post, sorry. btw that spell was a joke (well not, it could be good against kids) here is a real spell.


Name: The Lacerator
Target Type: Point
Targets: Enemy, Ground, Oganic.
Description: After targeted, charges for 2 seconds and then goes through an straight line piercing any enemy in its path, reducing armor and doing damage. Damage type is pure.
Damage Dealt: 75/150/225/300
Armour Reduction: 3/5/7/9 and lasts for 4 seconds.
Cast Range: 800
Spell mechanics and FX: When charging, the hero gets its vertex coloring changing from 0% to 100% transparency and when the hero teleports to the target point it changes back to its normal transparency, affected units by the piercing attack will get the Death and Decay effect in its chests (not the purple smoke) and a custom sound of a sword slicing is played while the spell is being executed, not charging.

Name: Jumper (Name needs changing, urgently)
Type: Target, Chain, Jump
Targets: Enemy
Description: The caster jumps onto the head of the target unit, dealing damage and stunning. Once the caster has reached the target, it then jumps off the target and jumps towards another enemy unit within range. This happens a few times.
Damage: 100 / 150 / 200
Target-Find Range: 600
Amount of Jumps: 3 / 4/ 5
Stun Duration: 1 / 2 / 3

Note: You can use GetUnitFlyHeight(target) + X to determine how high the caster has to jump to. (So this will work on air units)

Name: Evocation of the Damned
Type: Self Target
Targets: Enemy
Description: The caster gathers all unholy energy within himself, storing it within his weapon. After 3 seconds the weapon emanates a haze of unholy energy. While this haze is present units surrounding the caster are slowed. When the caster attacks a unit the unholy energy is expelled rapidly upon the attacked unit dealing heavy damage to it and surrounding enemy units. If the caster does not attack within 10 seconds of activation, the energy combusts within the weapon of the caster, expelling it outwards in a large AoE around the caster damaging enemy units, but damaging the caster as well. Units killed under this effect spawn a Nether Hellion.
Damage: 300 - Half AoE Damage / 450 - Half AoE Damage / 600 - Half AoE Damage
Slow Percentage *When Haze is Active*: 15 / 30/ 45

Too lazy to stat the Hellion... If you want to use the spell you go for it :p.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
