Yeah, I tried that too. Which is how I got some of them working that wern't.
But the others I have tried that and it still won't show up and I didn't see a path when I downloaded them. Not to mention, as I said, the readme files are about worthless.
I have read 3 tutorials on uploading custom models into the editor and I still can't get any of them to show up and 9 out of 10 don't have any instructions.
I'm trying to make a new race and one of the things I want them to do is to have the "aura of death".
Basically I want all their units to slowly generate blight from around them but for the blight to heal once they leave.
We have tried lots of triggers and had a little luck but not really...
Ok I think I get what a variable is, now I'm going to ask a question that is probably stupid.
Why do we use variables to store units and such? Why not just tell it to command that specific unit?
Also, in your example trigger, would I put the need for this unit to be built in a specific spot in...
Get most of it except the variable part.
Also is this the same kind of thing I would do to make the town ally with who has the banner? Or would that be different?
Thank you for being so helpful!
That would work.
I'm not exactly sure how I would start that though.
Also, is there a way to make the peasant(s) only mine when one of the players is in control of the town or no?
Yeah, I've barely even started understanding triggers so anything more advanced is beyond me.
Thank you for the idea on the peasant, I never thought of that.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to make the villages "serve" whatever side has the banner.
And sorry for bumping too soon...
That may be so, but it is far more productive to give useful advice to help him succeed rather then discouraging him.
A forums goal should not be to make it's new members run a gauntlet of discouragment in order to "weed out" those that are unworthy. It should be to make sure they get nothing...
I'm sorry, I am new here but, comments like this one serve no useful purpose other then discouraging new map makers.
And just because he is asking for peoples ideas does not mean he has no idea what he's doing.
Either post something productive or keep your opinion to yourself.
Now to rephrase...
Edit: Oops, I put this in the wrong spot! Sorry!
I'm new here, its a nice site you have. :-)
Now, I'm looking to get into map making and I have some nice maps started but I looked into the triggers and nearly lost all hope of ever being able to make a map.
I know a few little simple things...
