Here is an interesting game the strategy-minded among you might enjoy: Empire Attack! The game's basic idea is simple: you win by controlling the most squares on a gridded playing surface, expanding from square to square by putting a certain amount of population on each square. You have a home...
I always keep a pencil and paper next to my bed so I can quickly jot down details of my dreams before I forget them. I've been too busy/tired to do this lately, though, since I have to immediately wake up on school days and on weekends I sleep in past the point where I'm actually dreaming. I had...
I was actually a somewhat prolific poster back then  So some of the 'old crew' remember me.
The same exact thing that I'll probably be doing in a few months, lol :)
What was your account name then?
Has WoW really had that much of an impact? I guess that makes sense ... When I destroyed my Warcraft III CD I never even considered joining WoW. But I came back here more for the community than anything else.
Thanks for the welcome : ).
Lol, probably true. But I'm wiser this time around (plus I can download the game client for free from the internet anyway, and its easy enough to get serial codes, so no nee to break the [6] CD's).
There's always some new game (or old) that I'll be interested in...
I'm not dead after all, it seems.
Only members who have been here a while (2 years at least, I think) will remember me. For those who I didn't talk to much but were around at the same time, I was the naive young kid who was always throwing out random (and occasionally interesting or helpful)...
I doubt it could be done while WC3 was off. You would need to have the game code access some sort of variable from your computer (which keeps going even when shut down), which can't be done (without very intensive manipulation and code-cracking, if at all) on Warcraft.
You can't put buildings on the default elevator so that it sinks into the water - you would need to make a custom pathing for that.
Don't make your elevator a building, but instead a unit that can't move, is invulnearable, has fortified armor, etc. but sells items :) In short, give it all the...
Of course there will be bugs! There were, and are, still bugs at large in the original Warcraft World Editor code, a code created by professional, paid programmers. For amateur code-developers adding onto a program several years after its release, do you think it will mesh perfectly? No. But...
Rofl, The Helper, there were only 2 more paragraphs :P You might as well have added those instead of linking to the site :P
-Science: Dehumanizing your world one 'molecule' at a time- (TM)
What? Are you talking about this? :P
My system does terraining first. I agree completely, which is why steps 3-7 come before step 9 :P It's impossible to trigger your map completely until you have everything else the triggers will need done, which is why object data comes before triggering...
Making 'lane abilities' or area abilities could be a cool feature too. I'm not talking about giving the grey gatekepper more gold; making unique, reactable objects, like rocks you can push to create an avalanche in certain areas, would be an interesting way to play. For another example, a...
