Mape Ideas

Hi. I have worked with World Editor for some few years now. And know all the Basic triggers and know how to create a mape
Now i wanna take the next step, and make an nice mape, maybe an RPG. Right now i'm thinking about making a RPG mape.

I suck at getting ideas. So the thing i want help with is:
Some Ideas for items and Heroes. Some items and heroes, which isn't used.
Please help me If any other ideas for a RPG, please tell can always use help

I would first decide what your goals are...

Are you trying to create an ORPG "Open role playing game"? Where there isn't much of a story and the game isn't linear (players can do whatever, whenever.)

Or is it going to be more of a traditional RPG, where you have a story line, and quests that the hero MUST follow to complete the game?

Anyway, you should aim for the more simply things. First of all because youre not going to finish a big project at once anyway (you will need a lot of experience and knowledge about advanced triggering), second of all because those are more likely to entertain your audience. Minigames, tiny ORPG, are-you-idiots, things like that. Make sure they are unique in their genre though, make them entertaining.

a good rpg game is still hard to make altough you is advanced in triggering and need a lot of patient. thats can i say.

Check out my ORPG's thread. It became too much of a burden. I would highly recommend NOT making an RPG as your first map.

You could go with a TD or a game with minigames in it.

Other than their not good at English, what does it tell us.

Also, Welcome to the Helper!!!!

Here are a few tips for making Heroes:

Try and make Heroes that differ from the norm. If your out of ideas on what to base them on, scroll through the Neutral Hostile Section, pick a unit and make some abilities that suit it.

Try not to copy things from other maps like DotA ect.

Make Heroes with abilities that you think will be fun. There is not much point (In my opinion) in creating a hero that someone suggested, but you don't find fun to play as. This is Your Map and there is no real reason to make it unless your going to play it.

Items, basically create items that give bonuses. It may sound kind of boring but, use melee items and edit them to fit in with your map and (If you want to ake them) Recipes. The most used items are just scaled up/down versions of melee items.


Also, I agree with everyone else. Don't make an RPG as your first map. They take forever to complete, and even longer to make good. You'll likely stop before finishing. Most people that try making RPGs as eve there 8th or 9th maps fail and stop working on them.
If you really want to make an RPG, do it for fun and for experience, not because you want other people to play it.

Sorry I didn't know, about an ORPG. I didn't know how meny ORPG and RPG there is. I just found out today. That sucks. But thanks for telling me all this. The thing im good at, right now, is making Advanced Triggers.
I didn't know which map, i want to make.
One of my friends tolled me that, there was a big need of RPG, and ORPG.
This gave me a perspective of the map ideas. Thanks for helping..
