Held up at gunpoint, a store clerk invoked her faith to turn the desperate thief into a repentant gunman.

When a man tried to rob a MetroPCS cell phone store at gunpoint in Pompano Beach, Fla., store manager Nayara Goncalves, 20, calmly talked to the man about Jesus and her faith until he left without taking any money.

Goncalves said she doesn't know why she began to talk to him about Jesus.

"I believe it was the Holy Spirit of God that really made me want to tell him about Jesus," Goncalves told ABCNews.com.

Hahha, what exactly COULD have happened? Got shot with a BB? Probably not even, if it wasn't even a real gun I doubt he bothered getting bullets for it...

Ohhhhhhh leave her alone and just laugh about the fact that it worked. Please don't turn this into another "religion sucks" thread... I'm tired of reading them on thehelper.net under news stories that involve religious eccentrics. We get it, you define your world differently.

The fact that he went somewhere else to rob meant that her "faith" didn't do anything.

And she kept calm due to her faith. I don't really see your point there.

It is an obvious sign that faith can help you help yourself. I don't believe that being faithful alone will save you or anything. You have to live your faith, which will have positive impact on the way you treat yourself and others. Just going to church every sunday and praying five pater nosters will help you *****.

Maybe some good will come of this event yet. I know I myself, have realised something to be true, yet still gone against it initially, only later to reform and behave better. This could easily happen with this guy, so there is no justification for saying her faith did nothing in this case, just because he went to another place to steal.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
