2-p your first terrain looks quite similar to FFXIII. Did you base yours off of it?

The picture i based it on was one of the desktop wallpapers that came with windows 7 that was in the 'Canada' theme, so yeah :p

heres the pic i tried to base it on:

anyway... first sc2 terrain, and first terrain in awhile. I dont have a name for it so...
CnC please
The problem with your mountains is that the places which have snow on them aren't less steep than the rocky parts. That might work if the mountains are far away, but close-up like that you should make the mountains wider (they also really lack depth) and (slightly) flatten the snowy parts.
Needs some fog! And the trees farer in the back should be smaller.

No, never played it. But that's cool, could you please show me a pic of that FF equivalent? I think quite a few of my terrains have a JRPG influence, I don't think that I ever re-made a specific scene (Zelda aside), but sometimes when I come up with an idea I think "that's something you could see in a JRPG". At least I'd like to tell that myself. :p

Desert aside, the two pictures look quite similar. The fact that your city has a bubble or force field surrounding it like in FFXIII gives the idea that it's based off of Final Fantasy.

The city in the picture shows up a lot in the game, so if you played FFXIII you'd remember the force fields right away.

The picture's pretty bad, I couldn't really find any on it that were decent.

i couldnt figure out how to add fog. it was so simple in wc3 but so complicated here. i ended up just giving up on the fog. took me an hour jsut to figure out how to set the sky too.

also those 2 you posted are pretty cool, but in the second one there is some wierd line in their torso area

oh also, silly 2-P, robots cant love!

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
