A California man was charged with having child pornography - after burglars found the images while robbing his house and called police.

The burglars, a 19-year-old and a juvenile, broke into a barn owned by Kraig Stockard, 54, of Delhi, Calif., and stole about 50 CDs they thought were blank, according to a statement from Deputy Tom MacKenzie of the Merced County Sheriff's Department.

When the thieves downloaded the discs, they discovered the child porn, the statement said. They went straight to police, despite knowing that they'd be admitting the burglary.

They stole blank CDs? And then took 5 years over CP? Either they were trying to blackmail the guy, were hired, or it's made up.

If they weren't arrested then the police need to be.

Assuming this actually happened... the teens are likely guilty of blackmail. Letting them go free rewards a crime and allows the police to overstep citizen rights. eg. it's illegal to baselessly raid people's homes, therefore in theory they could have young people bulgarize instead.

Is it not bothersome that people consider possession of child pornography worse than burglary? Burglary is a completely deliberate offense that often turns into rape or murder. Possession of CP is the result of weakness to a fetish/illness that indirectly encourages child exploitation/molestation/abuse. So taboo it may be... it's clear which is worse isn't it?

Kids that steal DVD's, or the possible child molester.... Yes, clearly the kids.
