Crime Muslim woman wearing veil denied service at gas station in Florida

A Muslim woman wearing a full face veil has claimed she was refused service at a gas station.

La-Fleu Mohamed said she the cashier refused to accept her business unless she could see her face.

Mohamed claimed she was told to leave the gas station in Boca Raton, Florida, and was left 'humiliated.'

Chevron, owners of the gas station, said they have launched an investigation into the incident after Mohamed said she was the victim of religious discrimination.

ive worked as a cashier on Halloween before, it's not a pleasant experience - I fully agree with them refusing her service, although I haven't refused people for wearing costumes (no-one wore a full face mask)

I don't think this is necessarily religious discrimination, as already said, I think that the cashiers should have the right to not serve people who they do not want to.

I always think anyone could make up some religious reason why they have to wear, or can't wear, something and get away with it.

What happens when you want to do some banking with a such a thing on you ?

On the other hand, what if the same scenario happened and she happens to be a terrorist buying gas for explosives while service was still offered?

You guys are absolutely right. This is a security risk. Personally, I refuse service to anyone who speaks in an accent as well. I need to be able to read your inflections to safely work with you. Ofc it goes without saying that I refuse service to African Americans as well.

It's an outright disscrimination not offering someone service once they've entered the store, picked up their goods and are waiting to pay, just because their face is covered. All it gives you is lost revenue and a racist glee.

It is a security risk allowing people to cover their face while entering a store, which could be anything from a gas station to a bank, letting them hide their identity from both personel and security cameras.

Religion has absolutely nothing to do with it, you just have to draw the line at the door. I have no care for what faith you come from, you are as likely to rob the place being a christian, muslim, jew, hindu, atheist etc.

"But that religion prohibits their followers from.." Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't live by any archaic rules set in a tome hundreds of years ago by society as it was then, I live now, todays society cannot conform to all rules set by all religions, society first, faith later.

On the contrary, let's say, A woman would like to visit their homeland. So tell me. They would Or wouldn't be forced to wear

not all countries have religious freedom, the same argument can't be applied everywhere

on a side note, is it really the religion that requires it, or just governments in certain parts of the world?
