Footprints are part of the model, and are mostly unchangable (without going into the model itself). So if you want to make footprints last longer or freeze, I suggest you trigger them yourself...

Most projectile (or physics) systems are fairly advanced. You can either make your own (using concepts that you understand) or you can study up on those actual systems.
And If your messing around with physics and stuff you probably want something like this as protection.
I do believe there is something in Gameplay Constants that will effect your building range. I seem to recall something also in object editor. Perhaps you'd like to check out the Builder abilities and look at casting range?

I suspect these two are conflicting somehow. I also suggest you set the variable in each condition. It not getting destroyed sounds like your losing the special effect somehow. (Especially considering your doing this every second.)

Also do that for units and models. Something might be making your map crash. Find out which one is making it crash, and either replace it or dont use it.
Also another thing; make a new map, import things one by one.

Find out why the errors are happening. Your description is too...wide for us to be able to help. I've never had a problem like you are describing, so am sceptical that "it deletes my map!".
