what map protection programs are used nowaday?

i'm pretty sure its just a storm bolt with 0.1 stun and long casting time + range, that creates a dummy unit that grants vision over its target until the spell is cast
cant you just base it on 2 dummy spells and trigger the manacost drain?

Is it possible to make a unit invisible without adding the invisible fading effect on the unit?
In other words, i'm looking for a way to make unit invisible for other players without making the unit actually look invisible.
