I understand that this needs to be done with a trigger (or a few). I also think I am pretty good with triggers (never jass). I just need some help with this.

for some reason when i tested it, there was alot of lag, if you have the hero cast it 5 times in a row, it becomes a problem. so you can't ever put it in a real game, is there a way u could fix this?

hmm, not so good at importing, so all i have to do is make the pic? same size as minimap? and import it?
EDIT no no no, ; ) I actually want it to be just like the normal minimap but i just don't want it to be explore (its still possible to be explored)
but i want the mini map to start...
not really what i want to do. if you host a game in the extra settings you can change the minimap
display so it displays nothing, i was wondering if i could set that as a default

Hey i was setting up my almost finished Map. But when i test it, the minimap is showed. (this kinda gives away plot)
so is there anyway i can make the mini map black (trigger or otherwise)

In resident evil at the begining of the game you get to pick the type of hero you want.
through a dialogue box. What i want to do is almost the same thing, the user selects the hero he wants,
in a dialogue box then i give that type of hero to him. But i'm totally lost with the dialogue box...
its not easy, you have to delete them from the forces, and the players won't see them. But if you have already placed units for the color it won't work. you have to delete all of the units and then delete the computer.
If you have set up all of your players with forces and everything
ex
force 1
player 1 - comp
player 2-6 - users
force 2
player 7 - comp
player 8-12 - users
then you can go to forces (under scenario and player properties)
and you have to click the box that says fixed player...
