how do you create two icons in one cell on a multiboard?

i have a 256 MB and a 128 MB RAMs, is it ok to put these to RAMs to my computer? the 1st memory on the 1st PCI slot and the other is on the 2nd PCI slot. and if its ok, would it result to a 384 MB of RAM? i'm curious. :confused:
