I can't imagine why the output would be different and still work since signing should be identical. Have you had a chance to test it on a an actual DVD player?
Thanks for the feedback.
Which user did you login? The PATH for vmlabs should have bin directory in it and I tested it out just now and it worked.
I've attached the settings I used in Virtual Box if you want to test to see if you can get the window manager running.
Great job on the Windows...
Okay, I finally finished up making a modern linux distro with the tools needed to sign executables for DVD execution. It's a Debian Linux distribution for Virtual Box and it's a little bloated (2.3GB compressed, 8GB uncompressed), but I wanted to get it out there for people to test.
There is a...
It’s documented in SDK docs. It’s a bios call that will load the specified title from dvd by file name. Only works for signed files which should not be a problem now. It is also documented in the Nuance documentation as not implemented. This makes sense because no one could sign the binaries.
If I had to guess the actual only blocker for this game is the at it is signed for the particular bios found in the Korean DVD player. If I’m right it could be easily re-signed. If anyone has access to the files I could try and pick it apart.
This is honestly a similar problem to the controller work. The serial protocol needs to work over the controller ports but we need to know how to negotiate it. While the manuals talk about it being too slow for games, basic code tests and unit testing would be fine. In fact you could put data on...
Glad I could help. Honestly would not have been possible without all the resources and links provided here. So I think this was a community effort all around.
