hey, i'm new here. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to get a good 3rd person view for the rpg im making in World Editor. If you have ever played the Legacies: Tides of Serpants level (it was pretty popular on battle.net), this is the view im trying to get. I've screwed around with it for a couple of days now and I easily got the camera to follow my character and changes directions when he does, but somethings not right! The unit stays right in the middle of the screen and you can't see anything in front of him, no matter how i change the camera angle in the editor. Here, im gonna show you the full trigger, and you can evaluate it:
Events
Time- Every 0.15 seconds of game time
Conditions
(Angle of attack of the current camera view) Not equal to (Angle of attack of Camera001)
(Distance to target of the current camera view) Not equal to (Distance to target of Camera001)
Actions
Camera- Set player 1(Red)'s camera distance to target to (distance to target of camera001) over .50 seconds
Camera- Set player 1(Red)'s camera Angle of attack to(Angle of attack of camera001) over .50 seconds
Camera- Set player 1(Red)'s camera Rotation to (Facing of Footman0012) over .50 seconds
Camera- Lock camera target for player 1(Red) to Footmn0012 offset by (0.00, 0.00) using Default rotation.
thats it. It seems to me every .15 seconds it should snap back to the distance and angle of Camera001, which is set behind the units back and angled enough so you can see a good distance in front of him, but when the game starts the camera has the unit locked in the middle of the screen instead of the bottom. If any of you World Editor pros know the correct way to do this and decide to help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
