It was dark here in this room. The time was 2:56 am, and the computer was on. The light from the screen cast uneasy shadows all over the otherwise unlit room. The walls of the room were painted dark blue, making the room appear even darker. The closet stood ajar, a portal of total darkness that seemed to consume all light. The desk was cluttered with pencils, paper, cups, plates, wrappers, and other odds and ends. Behind the computer, there were demented drawings of things like demons and monsters pinned to a bulletin board. Above the computer, resting on a shelf, were a collection of graphic novels, Dragonball and Get Backers. Beside the graphic novels was a vase, hand sculpted with little Mayan pyramids on top; clearly for only decorative purposes. On the other side of the vase from the graphic novels was a jar of change, with the odd Canadian coin mixed in. There was an assortment of magazines stacked on top of the graphic novels, mostly Newsweek. There was a cup used to hold prismacolor markers sitting on the desk, that had three paintbrushes that did not belong. The desk itself was made from some sort of treated wood, perhaps oak or maybe even pine. There were odd bits of graffiti drawn into the underside of the desk, as to not be seen. Underneath the desk were pieces of garbage and an old pair of sneakers. The floor had a pile of clothes here and there, and there were three piles of books along the foot of the bed. Text books mainly, but a few for entertainment purposes as well. In a corner of the room, next to the dresser and desk, was a dumbbell, which saw hardly any use. next to this dumbbell sat a transportable fan, which comes in handy during the hot summers. The fan sat on top of a chess set, a rather nice set. The board was made from mahogany and the pieces were marble. This saw a lot of action and was always tucked under the fan after use for unknown reasons. In the opposite corner of the room was a easel, which held a virtually finished oil painting that the artist was unsatisfied with. Behind the easel there were numerous other paintings, mostly acrylic, that the same artist had done. Next to the easel was a bookshelf, ironically having only two shelves that held any books. The first shelf had the game battleship, with many containers full of random papers and drawings that hid the game from view. The next shelf had a dictionary, a few binders, a tin with 2 yo-yos in it. Alongside the tin was another jar of change. The next shelf up contained books from one end to the next, with nothing in-between. However, in the space between the books and the edge of the shelf there was a pack of poker cards, a visual dictionary, a compass, and an origami figure. On top of the books, perpendicular to them, sat a stack of drawings ripped out of a sketch pad. The next shelf up contained every Harry Potter book, the entire Lost Years of Merlin series, the Chronicles of Narnia books, an array of video games, a Pokemon deck, a VCR recording of all the FLCL episodes, and a bunch of Dragonball GT DVDs. Another shelf up and you find a model car, skiing goggles, two special edition Burger King pokeballs that contained the gold plated cards (Charizard and Mewtwo), three very old 'everyone gets a trophy' soccer trophies, a stuffed Charizard beanie, a Vampire Hunter D DVD signed by Michael McConnohie (D himself), about 8000 Thai dollars (or whatever they call them), and a Gundam action figure. On top of the bookshelf there is a Spongebob Squarepants pirate plush toy, a Stewie Griffin plush, a sculpture of a head, another sculpture of a monster, an RC car, and a Death Scythe H Gundam model. In the bed, the bed that should be carrying a person at this time of night, is a green courier bag with pictures painted on it, and a pile of clean laundry. In the middle of the floor, amidst the chaos of the dark room, lay a boy of perhaps 19 years of age. The computer screen blared the word, "4chan"

I started this trying to be scary, but then thought, to hell with it, I don't do scary, and made it this pointless thing instead. Although 4chan is rather scary.

When I first heard of 4chan, an image of a godly super-power came into my head. I always thought of 4chan as being the king of the Internet. That thought process has matured a bit, but I can understand the fear that is generated by 4chan. They have a lot of power, but the only good thing is that no one has all the power.
