A Internet problem...

Hi...

I have a latop (Compaq Presario 900), and a 2mbit ADSL internet... But whenever i try to connect to the internet, it says there is no Internet-connection... I´ve tried everything; Updating netcard driver, renew IP-adress... And i´ve been trough all the networks guides.... What do i do? All my other computers have no problems...

A bit info:

I use Windows XP Home
Have 2 computers on the same internet-connection trough a 5-port Switch...
 
A switch cannot assign IP addresses, you will need a router to do that.

    I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
