tl;dr People are chosen at random. There will be contests and fansite raffles. The MVP's of the community (aka progamers) will have early access. The HOTS beta will be multiplayer pvp only. There will be neat features in the future. It is uncertain how long the beta will last.

It went live yesterday. I'm still unable to test out the new beta features, as I'm on a laptop.

Reason why I said it went live yesterday: Time zones. We're 1 day ahead of you.

I like the changes to terran.
I am bored by the current TvP, i am looking forward to more interesting build orders and unit compositions. And of course, more variety.

Well the mothership core looks very interesting. I can say the same for the swarm host.
