Ability Editor

I don't have frozen throne, i always loved my roc, and as of about yesterday i used thehelper.net to start worldediting. i am trying 2 make a hero arena and so far most things aer going well, but i want heroes with custom abilities and i can't find an ability editor :banghead: . If ther is 1 in roc, where is it? if there isn't, is there one i can download? (please forgive my incorrect and changing grammar)

under object editor, is there a tab that says abilities? thats how u make custom stuff. (i use tft, so im not sure about roc)

it's a long time since i had the roc version of wc3 but as far as i remember there is no ability editor in it, and i dont know if you can download a program for making costum abilities but try to check at www.wc3sear.ch under the programs section they usually have what you need for map making and stuff like that for wc3

I know there is a way to edit abilities cuz dota started on roc and nexus arena and a few other maps have them, but i don't know if thopse makers downloaded something. maybe i should just get ft......

Using Excel

Uhhmm im not sure about this, but i think one method to doing this is by having an .mpq archive opener so you can go edit the .mpq files and then finding the abilities that you want to edit and edit it/them in excel and then saving them and overwriting them in ur map .mpq

microsoft Excel should work fine but im not 100% sure about this method

There is a third party editor called Zephirs that should do what you want.
The abilities in DotA where done by editing raw data in the map.w

Well you make abilities in RoC by using triggers or editing already made abilities by Blizzard. For example the healer on the Sentinel's side

had an ability called uhmm I don't know but it tp's her at any building.

Thats based of the Scroll of town portal. They just made it a Hero ability instead of item.

Okay guys i got to know Does roc have the ability editor, because the way i remember it i dosnt have it??? or does it?

when i was making my 1st hero i gave him abilities and when i clicked "edit ability", it gave me a list of blizzard's basic abilities and i was able to select one that replaced it...i think ill try again and see if i can figure something out

in the object editor click on the abilitys tab and then choose custom ability from the above buttons then chose your model and properties and bam!

matter of fact extremely dramatic changes...and no RoC does not have a ability editor.

nope mpqs are your files and they dont go out with maps they stay on ur drive enless u give them out on a website along with map.

I've only just got tft for my XP, before that i used roc and tft on the mac.

RoC doesn't have an ability editor, it only has unit and item editors in the object editor.

There was another way to edit abilities which involved extracting .slk data from a map with WinMPQ.

Then opening the data in Microsoft Excel or any spreadsheet program.

You could then change the fieds to your needs.

That's about all i know of a way of editing abilities except to get things into your roc map that could only be put in a tft map, use W3M Map Utilities, it has helped me many times and i still use it.
