ability help

i'm trying to make an ability similar to flak cannons (splash attack) but for a diff character. it wont work, it wont do the splash damage. i have the exact same things as the flak cannon ability except more damage. any help?

First off, you didn't give us even 15 minutes to respond.

Second, just a shot in the dark, but make sure that in the object editor, the unit who gets the flak cannons move has more than one target allowed for attack.

since the new ability orignated from flak cannons, there is no "allow more than one target" but there is "area of effect"

Make sure the attack type is Missile (Splash) and put damage for the AoE.

Post back after you test it to tell me what happened.

there actually is no "attack type" on the ability. there is only ==Data - full damage amount/medium damage amount+radius/small damage amount+radius

no no, not on the ability, editing the UNIT to have splash missles, number of targets, aoe etc. etc.

well, i put to missile splash and it wouldnt work. also, if it helps, i want it to be able to be researched.

I'm not sure which it is, but I BELIEVE the Mortar Team has an upgrade that allows them to do AoE damage...

are you sure you activated the attack type? like attacks allowed=only attack one because if you didnt im not sure if itll work you know you could just look at any unit with splash damage and see their attack type and other modifications if you havent figured it out already....
