about premmy maps

how can I play premmy maps? (when They are released).

1 - what are all possible ways? Pay-pal account? credit card? buy a premmium version of the game?

2 - if I'm the creator of a map that becomes premium map, but I don't have the premmy maps allowed for my account. Can I play my OWN map? :nuts:

3 - If by some reason my map become premmy, I gain anything with it? or blizzard just pick it from me and kick my butt and obligates me to pay for playing my own map?

4 - If I have a video board ATI Radeon HD4200, but SC2 requires "ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card or better", can I still play the game at minimum video configurations and achieve 60 fps?

1.) Probably, Credit Card, Pay-pal, and the might also make a kind of pre-paid card like microsoft points kinda thing.

2.)Don't think you would have to pay for your own map.

3.) I believe they said you will get a small cut of the sales money made from your map

you will get from the money. They will get as well. something like 40% or 60% not sure.

The real question IS what if I don't want to make the humble community of SCII pay for my map, huh ? What if I like my map to be free even though it is veeery popular ? (Ok, I know that at this point I sound like some over proud mapper who has a very sucsessful map, but just picture it) It really soudns as if Blizzard don't really give you a chance if your map will be premmium or not.

Blizz wont be giving an individual developer premium map rights...
Unless you're uber talented.

I believe it will be given out to a group that's has a map that turns the whole starcraft 2 engine inside out.

nah, I mean think about it: IceFrog made dota. Dota would be a premmium map. And besides, blizzard get most of their income from monthly WoW taxes. Will they want to have an income from SCII (besides the 2 expansions) ofcourse they will. That is why in my oppinion, the only requirenment will be a high popularity.

Both Mike Morhaime, Blizzard’s president, and Dustin Browder, lead game designer, have stated that maps such as DoTA will NOT make the cut for premium status and will NOT require payment.

Point being, your map just doesn't cut it. Just a map that is played is not enough.

Yeah, as in another thread somewhere on this site(not sure where), the only maps likely to become premium maps are those that would practically have cost the maker/s money to make (E.G Hiring a modeler or coder)
