this was in my error log and starcraft closes about 5 mins into the game...whenever things seem to get going...im running a 2100+, 512 DDR, promise chip raid0 (2 40GB HD's), radeon all-in-wonder 7500 (64DDR), windows XP service pack 1, can anyone help me? i think it might have something to do with my raid set up but im not sure.

same for me

i get the exact same error for warcraft3 and it happens so frequently that warcraft3 is becomming less fun (almost thinking of not playing it anymore)

i've read posts all over the net of people who have had this problem and almost all of the solutions i've read i've already tried and failed to end the crashing

and if it happens only in starcraft, diablo2, and wc3 then perhaps its blizzard's engine code thats causing the problem?

can anyone PLEASE help this guy?

sorry to post two times in a row but i just noticed that you also have the XP Service Pack 1...which i have as well

i've read somewhere that one guy started gettin these errors after installing the service pack

anyways im going to create a restore point and then remove the service pack (not sure how) and i'll post the results here...

anyone have any comments on this?

The cause for this error is corrupted data in the ram.

One: I would run a program to check to see if your ram has some bad areas in it.
Two: This can also be caused by cheap ram, mismatched ram (two sticks of ram from different mgf. and also different cas timing), or overclocked ram.
There: Overclocking your cpu or pci bus.

Also try updating your chipset drivers too.

well for the ram issue i've tried taking out every stick of ram and runnin each stick one by one to see which one is causing the problems and apparently they all do since i still get the error for each stick by itself

also is there a setting i can change to alter my cas timings? and what do u mean by chipset drivers (like via?) because i have latest via drivers and am runnin the 40.72 dets

*also note to my previous post: i removed the service pack and still get the errors so thats not causing it...

Bios/cmos settings are where you find the ram settings. As another note its also possible you could be suffering from overheating which is causing unstability. Open the side of your comp and use a large fan to blow and cool the inside. Try and see if that helps with the problems. If so you need more fans,clean dust if any, or better heatsink. (In some comps there is a thermal pad between the cpu and heatsink, this pad is pos, remove it and use a thermal paste like Arctic Silver)

well i don't think its an overheating problem since i've had the game crash just as i have booted up (and my computer doesnt heat it up *that* fast ;p) and also i don't crash half as much in other games...so im thinkin its only blizz-game related

also..i did look in my BIOS and i found settings such as CAS timing, latency or somethin like that

are there any programs that can test my memory to see what timings/settings i should set it to? (i've tried goldmember but that takes a frightfully long time...i actually let it run the test in the morning and by the time i got back at night..it was still freakin runnin the test! - and this was the "quick-test")

i could assume that it took that long because i have 640 ram...but having a test take *that* long seems absurd to me

are there any more efficient programs for testing and diagnosing memory problems?
