Access Violation

This is for SC:BW and involves the storm.dll. I know this question has been asked a bunch but I have looked all over and none of the already posted ideas has worked for me. Also I have deleted my bnetcatche and have gotten shutdown my fast find file. The error goes along the lines of whenever I get to the part where it say accessing account I get this error

"Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION
Fault address: 1502CBC3 01:0002BBC3 C:\PROGRAM FILES\STARCRAFT\STORM.DLL"

Please could someone help me, Thanks In Advance

Windows 98
Zonealarm firewall
????? sound card
ATI rage pro video card
192 RAM
200 mb free space
intel celeron 466

Have you disabled your firewall during installation too ?

That didn't seem to work. It is all the same error though.

Just disable the firewall the whole time you are trying to fix the game. In fact, uninstall for now. You can always put it back later. Have you checked out my post on Access Violation ?

would buying a new copy alleviate the problem I tried all of those solution and none of them seemed to work

I'm pretty sure your sound card is causing that error. You need to find out what your sound card is and download the latest drivers for it.

This program might help you there.

Its not the sound card, I just updated the drivers and it doesnt work, would a new copy of SC make this problem go away?

No a new copy will not solve the problem, it's a compatability issue.

Try these steps.

Uninstall starcraft.
uninstall your firewall.
Run scandisk and defrag to make sure your hard-drive is correctly ordered and not damaged.
install starcraft

see if that then works.

also, don't forget to cross out your serial # and cd key info when copy and paste the information
