ACPI controller

My computer freezes when it starts up and the last thing it shows is the ACPI controller. What is this and how much would it cost to replace if it is damaged?
 
Aren't ACPI controllers located on the motherboard? I'm not sure what it is, but it might be a bad driver. See if your motherboard manufacturer has some drivers to fix it.
 
The fact that it is the last thing in the list of devices on bootup does not mean that it is at all related to your problems....



If it is freezing at that point, it looks like there is a problem with Windows-- it isn't able to load the operating system. What OS are you using?
