adding armor as a regional trigger

so here's the deal: i want to have units step into a region and gain an armor bonus while they're in there.

i can make them explode, make them invulnerable, all kinds of crap... but i can't add 3 freakin armor.

any way to do that?

make a dummy unit in the area with devotion aura. make him invisible and an enemy and change devotion aura to effect enemies so his enemies are you

i considered that. problem is, the aura won't be confined to the space i'd like it confined to.

You could probably do it by editing the ability that the Scroll of Protection uses. Set it to +3 armor and change the area of effect to 0.50. Also change the setting so that it's used as soon as it is acquired (like with Tomes). Then make two triggers:

Entry
Events: Unit enters <your region>
Conditions: ...
Actions: Hero - Create <Scroll of Protection> and give it to <Triggering Unit>.

Exit
Events: Unit leaves <your region>
Conditions: ...
Actions: Unit - Remove <Scroll of Protection> buff from <Triggering Unit>

When a unit enters the region it will be given a Scroll of Protection that it will instantly use, giving it bonus armor. When it leaves the region the buff will be removed.

I am doing the exact same thing in my TD, and like he said, using an invisible unit in the center.

So, you can't have a round shape the size of the square? What about multiple units to get the shape you want?

okay, heres a new idea.

1. Make a new ability off 'Item Armor bonus+1' and change the armor value. Then UNCHECK 'item ability'.

2. Then make a trigger.
Unit - A unit enters (armor region)
Unit - Add ability (your armor ability) to triggering unit.

Pretty easy.

BUT, on my map, I need a PERCENTAGE, so I hadda do something different.
