Adding spells to weapons and such

I want to make my sword cast a spell when I attack a creep. Also is there a way to make a sword appear in my hand when i equip it?

To cast a spell on attack, you might want to look into the Orb of Lightning (New) ability.

I don't know exactly what you mean, do you mean like actually giving it a spell? like staff of teleportation, where you can teleport and stuff? or do you mean giving it abilities like bash or frost attack

You need to import a sword model, then edit your item to add a special effect on caster and select your custom sword model as special effect.
In Attachment points add the strings hand,left or hand,right, depending on what your needs are.
