AI initiation

As soon as I tamper with the AI settings for a map, everything goes to hell, and they either stop doing anything but mining gold, or just leave the units I give them to sit still. Now, I've constructed my enemies' bases for them, and I want them to act like the scenario AI, making worthy but futile attempts to break down my defenses at periodic intervals, rather than the brutal "I will multitask much faster than you and smash you with a level 5 hero + troops" regular AI for a custom map. Now I realize this isn't a problem for most players, I just haven't got the knack for doing ultra-fast expansion, and I don't really enjoy it enough to want to.

Anyway, a listing of the triggers I would want to put in, and an explanation for any that might not be obvious, would be great. Post the reply here or email me at [email protected]

A little insight...

Ok, I had a similar problem, and so maybe I can help a tiny bit. I have another pending thread titled "AI Commands..." that you can look at too for a little more help. The thing is that once you start tampering with the melee initialization that the worldeditor starts you out with, it automatically changes the map type to be "campaign" and no longer "melee." So, with that said, you can no longer use the "initialize melee AI scripts" command that it has in the defualt created map trigger.
So I tried using a "intialize campaign AI scripts." The units still just stood there. The problem is that although the peasants will mine and stuff (only if there are resources availiable) they still do nothing in the realm of building or attacking. So, I'm about to take one of blizzards .ai scripts or campaign maps apart to see what makes their units work right. I can command the computer units to move and to attack and stuff... but it is sort of a pain to program all that stuff yourself. It would be nice if somehow we could get the computer AIs that blizzard has already written to work in our games... blah. ok. I'll work on it and get back to you within a week or so.
